Bellechasse is a provincial electoral riding in the Chaudière-Appalaches region of Quebec, Canada which elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It notably includes a section of the city of Lévis as well as Saint-Henri, Saint-Anselme, Lac-Etchemin, Sainte-Claire, Beaumont, Saint-Charles-de-Bellechasse, Saint-Raphaël and Saint-Gervais. Charlevoix is a former provincial electoral district in the Capitale-Nationale region of Quebec, Canada, which elected members to the National Assembly of Quebec. As of its final election, it included the municipalities of La Malbaie, Saint-Siméon, Baie-Saint-Paul and Baie-Sainte-Catherine. It was created for the 1867 election (and an electoral district of that name existed earlier in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada). Its final election was in 1908. It disappeared in the 1912 election and its successor electoral district was Charlevoix-Saguenay. It was recreated for the 1948 election and its final election was in 2008. Joseph Morin (Charlevoix MLA)
Joseph Morin (February 13, 1854 – June 1, 1915) was a merchant, farmer and political figure in Quebec. He represented Charlevoix in the Legislative Assembly of Quebec from 1886 to 1897 and from 1900 to 1904 as a Liberal. He was born in Baie-Saint-Paul, Canada East, the son of Toussaint Morin and Calixte Vandal, and was educated at the Académie de Baie-Saint-Paul. He was a representative for Matthew Moddy & Son and for the Canada Life Company. In 1878, he married Georgianne Simard. Morin was secretary-treasurer for the municipality of Baie-Saint-Paul in 1879 and for the local school board from 1879 to 1903. He also served on the village council for Baie-Saint-Paul. Morin was defeated by Pierre D'Auteuil when he ran for reelection in 1897. Champlain (provincial Electoral District)
Champlain is a provincial electoral riding in the Mauricie region of Quebec, Canada, which elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It notably includes the eastern portions of the city of Trois-Rivières as well as Saint-Tite, Saint-Maurice and Sainte-Thècle. Its boundaries have remained the same since the 1973 election. However, the boundaries changed for the 2018 election as it gained Hérouxville, Lac-aux-Sables, Notre-Dame-de-Montauban, Saint-Adelphe, Sainte-Thècle, Saint-Séverin and Saint-Tite from Laviolette. It is named after the founder of Quebec City in 1608, Samuel de Champlain. Maurice Perrault
Maurice Perrault (12 June 1857 – 11 February 1909) was a Canadian architect, civil engineer, and politician. Born in Montreal, Canada East, the son of Henri-Maurice Perrault, a surveyor and architect, and Marie-Louise-Octavie Masson. Perrault studied at the Petit Séminaire de Montréal from 1867 to 1875. He studied surveying and architecture from 1875 to 1879. In 1880, he went to work in his father's company, which was called Perrault et Mesnard. Here, he was involved in the design of Sainte-Cécile in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield (1882–84); Sainte-Anne in Varennes (1883–87); Saint-Antoine in Longueuil (1884–87); and Saint-Charles in Lachenaie (1888–90). The firm reconstructed the facade and steeple of the Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel. Henry Thomas Duffy
Henry Thomas Duffy KC (May 29, 1852 – July 3, 1903) was a Canadian politician. Born in L'Avenir, Lower Canada, the son of John Duffy and Mary Ann Mountain, Duffy received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature in 1876 and a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1878 from McGill College. He was called to the Quebec Bar in 1879 and practiced law in Sweetsburg, Quebec in the Eastern Townships. Entering politics, he ran unsuccessfully as the Liberal candidate for a seat in the Legislative Assembly of Quebec in an 1889 by-election held in the electoral district of Brome. In 1894, he was elected mayor of Sweetsburg, a post which he held for some time. He was elected in the 1897 election in Brome and was appointed minister of public works in the cabinet of Félix-Gabriel Marchand.
