''10 Tracks to Echo in the Dark'' is the sixth studio album by British rock band The Kooks. The follow-up to the 2018 album '' Let's Go Sunshine'', it was produced by Tobias Kuhn and the band's lead singer Luke Pritchard, and released on 22 July 2022 through the band's independent label Lonely Cat with distribution by AWAL. It is the first album recorded by the band as a trio following the departure of bassist Pete Denton in late 2018. Background Following the Brexit referendum, Luke Pritchard wanted to maintain The Kooks' European connection by going to Berlin to work with writer and producer Tobias Kuhn. After coming up with five tracks, the COVID-19 pandemic brought work to a halt in March 2020, which meant Pritchard had to return to the U.K. and continue the writing sessions with Kuhn via Zoom. The Kooks
The Kooks () are an English pop-rock band formed in 2004 in Brighton. The band consists of Luke Pritchard (vocals/rhythm guitar), Hugh Harris (lead guitar/synthesizer/bass) and Alexis Nunez (drums). Their music is primarily influenced by the 1960s British Invasion movement and post-punk revival of the new millennium. The Kooks have experimented in several genres including rock, Britpop, pop, reggae, ska, and more recently, funk and hip-hop, being described once as a "more energetic Thrills or a looser Sam Roberts Band, maybe even a less severe Arctic Monkeys at times". Tobias Kuhn
Tobias Kuhn is a German songwriter, producer and film composer living in Berlin. Career In 1992, Kuhn co-founded German indie band Miles with his high school friends and signed to V2 Records shortly after. After releasing four albums, he started his solo-project Monta and released two critically acclaimed albums including ''Where Circles Begin'' which was named "Album of the Week" by the Sunday Times. Neiked (stylised as NEIKED) is a Swedish artist collective of singers, songwriters and record producers. Victor Rådström and Mikael Rabus founded Neiked, a group that comprises rising artists, producers, writers and vocalists. History Rådström got his start writing songs in the basement of his home.
