19th Filmfare Awards
The 19th Filmfare Awards were held in 1972, honoring the best in Hindi films in the year 1971. ''Anand (1971 film), Anand'' and ''Mera Naam Joker'' led the ceremony with 7 nominations, followed by ''Kati Patang'' with 6 nominations. ''Anand'' won 6 awards, including Filmfare Award for Best Film, Best Film, Filmfare Award for Best Actor, Best Actor (for Rajesh Khanna) and Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actor (for Amitabh Bachchan), thus becoming the most-awarded film at the ceremony. Rajesh Khanna received dual nominations for Best Actor for his performances in ''Anand'' and ''Kati Patang'', winning for the former. Paras is a 1971 Indian Hindi-language film starring: Sanjeev Kumar, Raakhee, Mehmood, Farida Jalal, Shatrughan Sinha and Madan Puri. Plot Dharam Singh is an honest farmer in rural India, and lives with his sister, Bela, who is now of marriageable age. One day both brother and sister witness a murder, and haul the killer to the nearest police station, where the killer is charged, arrested, and held for court. Pran Krishan Sikand (12 February 1920 – 12 July 2013), better known by his mononym, Pran, was an Indian actor, known as the greatest villain ever in the history of Indian cinema and character actor in Hindi cinema from the 1940s to the 1990s.
