1999–2000 Ukrainian First League was the ninth season of the Ukrainian First League which was won by FC Dynamo-2 Kyiv. The season started on July 25, 1999, and finished on June 19, 2000. Ukrainian First League
The Persha Liha ( uk, Перша ліга) or Ukrainian First League is a professional football league in Ukraine and the second tier of national football competitions pyramid. Members of the league also participate in the Ukrainian Cup. It is the highest division of Professional Football League. History The league was set up by the newly reorganized Football Federation of Ukraine (a successor of the Football Federation of the Ukrainian SSR) with the falling apart Soviet Union as a second tier, lower than Ukrainian Higher League (Vyshcha Liha) and higher that Ukrainian Transitional League (Perekhidna Liha). The very first round of games that took place for this league was on 14 March 1992. FC CSKA Kyiv ( uk, "ЦСКА Київ") is a Ukrainian amateur football club, until 2001 of the Central Sports Club of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is government sponsored by the Ministry of Defense. As its farm team CSKA-2 Kyiv, in 1994–2001 it served as a farm team of CSKA Kyiv which later was renamed into Arsenal Kyiv. After reorganization in 2001 the football section "FC CSKA Kyiv" was privately sponsored until 2009 when it withdrew from the professional league 4 September 2009 due to lack of financial support. The 2000–01 Ukrainian Second League was the tenth season of 3rd level professional football in Ukraine. The competitions were divided into three groups according to geographical location in the country – A is western Ukraine, B is southern Ukraine and Crimea, and C is eastern Ukraine. The groups were won respectively by FC Polissya Zhytomyr, FC Obolon Kyiv and FC Naftovyk Okhtyrka. SC Odesa is a former Ukrainian football team that appeared in 1992 following the reorganization of the Soviet SKA Odesa. The new city municipal team was located in Odesa, Ukraine and previously at one point was part of the Soviet Army sport system. Football Club Naftovyk Okhtyrka is a Ukrainian amateur football club based in Okhtyrka, Sumy Oblast, where it was founded in 1980. The name of the club means "oiler" in Ukrainian.
