1999–2000 Scottish Inter-District Championship
The 1999–2000 Scottish Inter-District Championship was a rugby union competition for Scotland's professional district teams. With the merging of the 4 districts into 2 in 1998; now only Glasgow and Edinburgh were involved in the Scottish Inter-District Championship. Glasgow Caledonians and Edinburgh Reivers then fought it out in a renamed Tri-Series. The previous year this was sponsored by Tennents Velvet, but this year the Tri-Series ran without a sponsor. Three matches were played between the clubs. Glasgow won the series, beating Edinburgh 2-1. A league table is shown for completeness. Both teams entered the next year's Heineken Cup. Glasgow Warriors
Glasgow Warriors are a professional rugby union side from Scotland. The team plays in the United Rugby Championship league and in the European Professional Club Rugby tournaments. In the 2014–15 season they won the Pro12 title and became the first Scottish team to win a major trophy in rugby union's professional era. The side is known for its fast, dynamic and attacking style of play, using offloads and quick rucks. Defensively the club prides itself on its 'Fortress Scotstoun' where the club play at home. Caledonian Stadium is a football ground in the Longman area of Inverness, Scotland, near the banks of the Moray Firth. It hosts home matches of Scottish Professional Football League club Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Gordon Leslie Simpson (born 21 September 1971) is a New Zealand-born rugby union player who played as a loose forward, formerly for Glasgow Caledonians and also representing Scotland. He was known by the nickname "badger" because of his ability to win the ball close to the ground. Duncan Hodge
Duncan Hodge (born 18 August 1974) is a Scottish former internationalist rugby union player. He gained 26 full caps for Scotland. Playing career Hodge was born in Dumfries, Scotland and educated at Merchiston Castle School in Edinburgh. He went on to represent Durham as a student, competing in the same team as Will Greenwood and Tim Stimpson. As a 19-year-old he was given the choice of touring Zimbabwe and South Africa with Scotland's National Cricket team, or playing under-21 national rugby and completing his university exams.. The latter was the only realistic choice for somebody who has already decided that he wanted to focus on a full-time career in sport. Hughenden is a multi-sports venue in the Hyndland area of Glasgow, Scotland. It has been the home since 1924 of Hillhead Sports Club, a private members' club catering for cricket, rugby union and tennis. Gordon Bulloch (born 26 March 1975) is a former Scotland international rugby union player. Rugby Union career Amateur career He made his debut for West of Scotland in November 1995 against a touring side, South African provincial team Griqualand West. He went on to captain West of Scotland from 1996-97 and took West to promotion to the Scottish Premiership.
