During the 1999–2000 English football season, Fulham F.C. competed in the Football League First Division. Season summary Before the 1999-2000 season, Paul Bracewell was appointed as Fulham manager and despite them competing in the top half of Division One throughout the campaign, Bracewell was sacked on 30 March 2000 by millionaire owner Mohamed Al-Fayed after failing to provide instant success that was demanded from the owner who is desperate to see Fulham play Premiership football and Karl-Heinz Riedle along with assistant Roy Evans took over as caretaker managers on a temporary basis until the end of the season and they guided the Cottagers to a 9th-place finish. On 9 April 2000, the more experienced Jean Tigana was appointed as Bracewell's successor and took over in July. Fulham () is an area of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham in West London, England, southwest of Charing Cross. It lies in a loop on the north bank of the River Thames, bordering Hammersmith, Kensington and Chelsea, London, Chelsea, with which it shares the area known as West Brompton. Jean Tigana
Amadou Jean Tigana (born 23 June 1955) is a French former football player and manager. A central midfielder, he was renowned as one of the best midfielders in the world during the 1980s. He spent his entire playing career in France, and made 52 appearances and scored one goal for the France national team. Following his playing career, he became a manager, coaching clubs in France, England, Turkey and China. Club career Tigana started his professional career as a player at Toulon, having been spotted fairly late playing part-time while employed in a spaghetti factory and then as a postman. He moved to Lyon in 1978 and then to Bordeaux in a $4 million transfer. Paolo Pasquale Peschisolido (born 25 May 1971) is a Canadian former soccer player and coach. Peschisolido was coach of English League Two club Burton Albion from May 2009 until March 2012. A forward, Peschisolido began his career in the Canadian Soccer League with the Toronto Blizzard and played in the Major Indoor Soccer League with the Kansas City Comets before moving to England. Stephen John Finnan (born 24 April 1976) is an Irish former international footballer who played as a right-back.
