1999 Sudirman Cup
The 1999 Sudirman Cup was the 6th tournament of the World Mixed Team Badminton Championships. It was held from May 10 to May 15, 1999, in Copenhagen, Denmark. Teams 50 teams around the world took part in this tournament, Zambia also entered but did not play in the tournament. Sudirman Cup
The Sudirman Cup is an international badminton mixed team competition contested by member countries of the Badminton World Federation (BWF), the sport's global governing body. The championship has been awarded every two years since the inaugural tournament in 1989. It used to be held at the same venue for the World Championships in the same year until the International Badminton Federation (now the BWF) decided to split the two tournaments starting from 2003. There are five matches in every Sudirman Cup tie which consists of men and women's singles, men and women's doubles and mixed doubles. The cup is named after Dick Sudirman, a former Indonesian badminton player and the founder of the Badminton Association of Indonesia (PBSI). The current champion is China, which won its 12th title at the 2021 tournament in Finland. Joanne Quay
Joanne Quay Swee Ling (born 17 March 1980) is a Malaysian former badminton player. Quay was the gold medalist at the 1998 World Junior Championships in the mixed doubles event partnered with Chan Chong Ming. She and Chan also won the silver medal in Asian Junior Championships. She was part of the national team that won the women's team silver medal at the 1998 Commonwelath Games. Quay left the Badminton Association of Malaysia in 2004 and joined the Kuala Lumpur Racquet Club (KLRC). Ricky Subagja
Ricky Subagja (born 27 January 1971) is a former Indonesian badminton player. He was rated among the greatest doubles specialists in the sport's history. Career In 1993 the fast moving, faster hitting Subagja won men's doubles at the then biennial IBF World Championships in Birmingham, England with fellow countryman Rudy Gunawan. However, Subagja's regular partner for most of the 90s was another fellow countryman, the equally fast and hard-hitting Rexy Mainaky, and they formed the most successful team of the decade. Subagja and Mainaky won more than thirty international titles together, including all of badminton's major championships at least once. Rexy Mainaky
Rexy Ronald Mainaky (born 9 March 1968) is a former men's doubles badminton world champion from Indonesia who is often simply known as Rexy. He won the men's doubles Olympic gold medal in 1996 with Ricky Subagja. As of October 2021, he was appointed as the new deputy coaching director of the Badminton Association of Malaysia. Career During the 1990s Mainaky and fellow countryman Ricky Subagja formed the most internationally successful team of the decade. Deyana Gresye Susanti Lomban (born 27 January 1976) is a former Indonesian badminton player who also play for the PB Jaya Raya. She competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics in the women's doubles event partnered with Eliza Nathanael. Hendrawan
Hendrawan (; born 27 June 1972) is an Indonesian badminton coach and former player. Personal life Hendrawan began to play badminton at 10 years old and began his top-level career at Cipayung National Training Center. He retired from the Indonesian team in 2003. He married his longtime girlfriend, former player Silvia Anggraini, the sister of Hendra Setiawan, on January 7, 2001. Cindana Hartono Kusuma (born 8 June 1976) is a retired Indonesian badminton player in the 90s and early 2000s. She won the women's singles gold medal at the 1999 Southeast Asian Games, and was part of the Indonesian women's winning team at the 1999 and 2001 Southeast Asian Games. Minarti Timur (; 24 March 1968) is a former Indonesian badminton player who is affiliated with PB Djarum since 1987.
