1999 Minnesota Golden Gophers Football Team
The 1999 Minnesota Golden Gophers football team represented the University of Minnesota in the 1999 NCAA Division I-A football season. In their third year under head coach Glen Mason, the Golden Gophers compiled an 8–4 record, outscored their opponents by a combined total of 368 to 196, tied for fourth place in the Big Ten Conference, and were ranked #17 and #18 in the final Coaches and AP polls. Glen Orin Mason (born April 9, 1950) is a former American football player and coach. Mason served as the head football coach at Kent State University from 1986 to 1987, the University of Kansas from 1988 to 1996, and the University of Minnesota from 1997 to 2006, compiling a career college football record of 123–121–1.
