The 1999 Jordan League was the 48th season of Jordan Premier League, the top-flight league for Jordanian association football clubs. The championship was won by Al-Faisaly, while Kfarsoum, Al-Arabi, Al-Baqa'a, and Al-Torra were relegated. A total of 12 teams participated. Jordan League
The Jordanian Pro League ( ar, الدوري الأردني للمحترفين) is a Jordanian professional league for men's football clubs and represents the top flight of Jordanian football. The championship consists of twelve competing teams in a home and away league system. The league not held in the years : 1948, 1953, 1957, 1958, 1967, 1968, 1969, and not finished in the 1998 in 2002 the league change calendar to a fall spring season. In 2020 the league return to a spring fall season. Competition format Competition There are 12 clubs in the Premier League. During the course of a season (from March to October) each club plays the others twice (a double round-robin system), once at their home stadium and once at that of their opponents', for 22 games. Teams receive three points for a win and one point for a draw. No points are awarded for a loss. Teams are ranked by total points, then goal difference, and then goals scored. The Rec.Sport.Soccer Statistics Foundation (RSSSF) is an international organization dedicated to collecting statistics about association football. The foundation aims to build an exhaustive archive of football-related information from around the world. History This enterprise, according to its founders, was created in January 1994 by three regulars of the Rec.Sport.Soccer (RSS) Usenet newsgroup: Lars Aarhus, Kent Hedlundh, and Karel Stokkermans. Al-Ramtha Sports Club ( ar, نادي الرمثا الرياضي) is a Jordanian professional football club based in Ar Ramtha, Jordan. Abdel-Halim Samara, was the president of the club (from 1967 to 2018), is considered to be the oldest club president in the world. Irbid or Irbed ( ar, إربد) is a governorate in Jordan, located north of Amman, the country's capital. The capital of the governorate is the city of Irbid. Al-Wehdat Sport Club ( ar, نادي الوحدات الرياضي}) is a Jordanian sport club founded in 1956. The club is based in and represents the Amman New Camp, a Palestinian refugee camp which is also known as Al-Wehdat. Al-Wehdat's home games are played at King Abdullah II Stadium (cap. 13,265). There are other sports offered in the club, such as volleyball, basketball and table tennis. History The club was founded in 1956 under the name Al-Wehdat Youth Center. In 1974, they changed their name to Al-Wehdat Sport Club and have been called that since then (with the exception of 1986–1989 when it was named Al-Diffatain Sport Club.) Irbid ( ar, إِربِد), known in ancient times as Arabella or Arbela (Άρβηλα in Ancient Greek), is the capital and largest city of Irbid Governorate.
