1999 Damallsvenskan
The 1999 Damallsvenskan was the twelfth season of the Damallsvenskan. Matches were played between 14 April and 29 October 1999. Älvsjö AIK won the title for the fifth time, a record that stood until the end of 2013. They won by eleven points from Umeå IK. Malmö FF finished third. The playoffs were also won by Älvsjö, beating Malmö FF in the final, who therefore finished as runners-up. This was the last time playoffs were used until the 2009 Damallsvenskan. Before the season, Ornäs BK, Tyresö FF and Östers IF were promoted. The first two teams and Sunnanå SK were relegated at the end of the season. Damallsvenskan
The Damallsvenskan, Swedish for ''ladies all-Swedish'' and also known as OBOS Damallsvenskan for sponsorship reasons, is the highest division of women's football in Sweden. It is also referred to as the women's Allsvenskan. The term Allsvenskan alone is used to reference the men's division. The division consists of a league of 14 teams. From 2013, the Damallsvenskan began operating on a system of promotion and relegation with the Elitettan. The two lowest placed teams are relegated to the Elitettan, and the two highest placed teams from the Elitettan are promoted in their place. Starting with the 2022 season the league has been expanded from 12 to 14 teams. The first Swedish women's national championship was played in 1973. Umeå IK () is a professional association football club based in the city of Umeå, in northern Sweden, and currently playing Damallsvenskan, the first tier of women's football in Sweden. 2009 Damallsvenskan
The 2009 Damallsvenskan was the 22nd season of the Damallsvenskan, the highest level of professional women's football in Sweden, with 12 teams competing. The season ran from 25 March to 7 November. For the first time in five years the league had a new champion in Linköpings, as Umeå IK did not manage to win the league for a fifth time in a row. Tyresö Fotbollsförening is a Swedish football club in Tyresö, a municipality in Stockholm County. Östers Idrottsförening, commonly known as Östers IF or simply Öster, is a Swedish sports club located in Växjö, specializing in Association football, football, and playing in the second tier of Swedish football, Superettan. Sunnanå SK is a football club from Skellefteå, Sweden who in 2019 plays in Swedish Women's Football Division 1, level 3 of women's soccer in Sweden. The club was established in 1939 and the women's division was added in 1974. Sunnanå has played many seasons in the Women's premier division (Damallsvenskan) and hold two championship gold medals (1980,1982). Bälinge IF
Bälinge IF is a sports club from Bälinge, 10 kilometres north-west of Uppsala, Sweden. Background Bälinge Idrottsförening was established on 15 March 1936 and is currently active in men's and ladies' football, cross-country skiing, floorball, and table tennis. In the past the club has also run an ice hockey section. In the first years of Bälinge IF's history their sportsmen wore blue and yellow team colours. It was then decided that these colours could only be used by a Swedish national team so BIF had to switch to black and yellow.
