The 1998–99 Croatian Football Cup was the eighth edition of Croatia's football knockout competition. Croatia Zagreb were the defending champions, and it was won by Osijek. This was the first season when a preliminary round was played, with top level clubs entering the competition in the first round proper. Goran Meštrović (born June 13, 1966) is a Croatian retired footballer who played as a midfielder and also served as a football manager. Playing career Meštrović played in the National Soccer League in 1990 with Toronto Croatia. In 1992, he played in the Croatian First Football League with HNK Cibalia. Dumitru Mitu (born 13 February 1975) is a Romanian former footballer who played as a left winger or striker. Early life Mitu was born in Bucharest, but spent his childhood years in the nearby village of Dobroieşti. His father worked at the village bar, while his mother was a kiosk saleswoman.
