The Copa del Rey de Baloncesto (English: '' King's Cup of Basketball'') is an annual cup competition for Spanish basketball teams organized by Spain's top professional league, the Liga ACB. History Originally known as the ''Copa de España de Baloncesto'', was first played in 1933 and contested in its first editions only by teams from the provinces of Madrid and Barcelona. It was the first nationwide basketball competition played in Spain. During the Francoism, it was referred to as the ''Copa del Generalísimo de Baloncesto'', before becoming the ''Copa del Rey de Baloncesto'' in 1977. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada, S.A.D., known as just Fuenlabrada and also Carplus Fuenlabrada because of sponsorship reasons,, is a professional basketball team based in Fuenlabrada, Spain. The team plays in the Liga ACB and plays their home games at Fernando Martín. History Founded in 1983, Fuenlabrada started to compete at a local level. The club joined national competitions two years later and worked its way up, reaching the first regional division in the late 1980s. By 1991, it already became Baloncesto Fuenlabrada and a year later, it merged with CB Torrejón de Ardoz to compete in the Spanish second division. Anthony Bonner (born June 8, 1968) is an American former professional basketball player. College career Bonner played college basketball at Saint Louis University. He is the Saint Louis Billikens' all-time leading scorer, with 1,972 points. Professional career Bonner was selected by the Sacramento Kings, in the first round (23rd overall pick) of the 1990 NBA draft. He played six seasons in the NBA, for the Kings, New York Knicks, and Orlando Magic. He averaged 6.9 points per game in his NBA career. Miroslav "Mića" Berić ( sr-cyr, Мирослав "Мића" Берић; born January 20, 1973) is a Serbian former professional basketball player. Standing at 2.00 m (6'6 ") tall, he played at the shooting guard position. Professional career Berić was the top scorer of the 2000–01 FIBA SuproLeague, averaging 23.3 points per game, while playing with Partizan. He also played for Tau Vitoria, Müller Verona, Scavolini Pesaro, Žalgiris, Panellinios, Azovmash, Llanera Menorca and Gijón. Performance Index Rating (PIR) is a basketball mathematical statistical formula that is used by the Euroleague Basketball Company's first and second tier competitions, the EuroLeague and the EuroCup, as well as various European national domestic and regional leagues. It is a part of the Tendex basketball rating system. It is also variously referred to as Performance Index Ranking, Rating, Ranking, Evaluation, Valuation, and Efficiency. It is similar to, but not exactly the same as, the NBA's Efficiency (EFF) stat. The Asociación de Clubes Españoles de Baloncesto (Spanish Basketball Clubs Association), more commonly known as the Asociación de Clubs de Baloncesto (ACB), is a national sports association responsible for administering the main professional basketball league in Spain - the Liga Endesa. The organisation was founded in 1982. Competition The 18 member clubs of the ACB are grouped into the Liga Endesa. In any given season a club plays each of the others in the same division twice, once at their home stadium and once at that of their opponents.
