1999 Barber Dodge Pro Series Season
The 1999 Barber Dodge Pro Series season was the fourteenth season of the series. All cars are Dodge powered, Michelin shod, Reynard 98E chassis. Race calendar and results In season testing The Barber Dodge Pro Series conducted a three-day test at the 1 mile oval of Phoenix International Raceway. It was the first time since 1996 the series visited an oval. It was the first time the in 1998 introduced Michelin shod Reynard 98E visited an oval track. Many drivers, such as Sepp Koster, had never driven on an oval before. John McCaig was the only driver who also competed in the 1996 Nazareth Speedway Barber Pro Series race. Defending series champion Jeff Simmons was the fastest driver over the three-day test driving an average lap of 129.042 mph (207.67km/h). Barber Dodge Pro Series
The Barber Dodge Pro Series was a professional open-wheel auto racing series from 1986 to 2003. It was one of the first professional spec series for open-wheel racecars in North America. The races were primarily on road and street courses in North America, although the schedule did sometimes include a few ovals. This series is often confused with Skip Barber's long-standing amateur racing series which has always used different and significantly less powerful cars. The amateur series currently has regional and national components. The Barber Pro Series was a spec series, in which all cars were identically prepared by Skip Barber Racing. From its beginning in 1986 to 1994, the series was known as the Barber Saab Pro Series; the spec car was a tube-frame Mondiale chassis (basically a Formula Ford 2000 design) powered by a turbocharged 16-valve Saab 16v engine. Cleveland Burke Lakefront Airport is a public airport on the shore of Lake Erie, in the northeast part of downtown Cleveland, Ohio, United States. Laguna Seca Raceway (branded as WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, and previously Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca) is a paved road racing track in central California used for both auto racing and motorcycle racing, built in 1957 near both Salinas and Monterey, California, United States. The racetrack is long, with a elevation change. Its eleven turns are highlighted by the circuit's signature turn, the downhill-plunging "Corkscrew" at Turns 8 and 8A. Sepp Koster
Josephus (Sepp) Koster (born 17 September 1974 in Heemskerk) is a former Dutch racing driver. Koster made appearances in various racing classes throughout Europe and North-America. Career Europe Sepp Koster grew up in Mol, Belgium and later moved to Antwerp. Koster started kart racing in 1989 at the age of 15. After successes he graduated to the Dutch Formula Ford championship in 1993. The young driver continued racing while studying mechanical engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology. The 18-year-old driver made his debut with the Ford supported GEVA Racing team. While Bas Leinders won the championship, Koster achieved a third place in the standings after his inaugural autoracing season. The next year Koster won the Dutch and Benelux championships. The West Michigan Grand Prix was a weekend of professional auto racing held at the Scott Brayton Memorial Street Circuit in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The first edition was held in 1998 and the final edition in 1999. The Grand Prix was sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing. History The West Michigan Grand Prix was first announced in 1997 by SCCA Pro Racing. As part of the promotion of the event three Trans-Am Series cars raced down Fulton Street. A Ford Mustang Cobra, Oldsmobile Cutlass and Chevrolet Camaro passed Grand Rapids mayor John H. Logie waving the green flag. Peter Boss
Peter Boss (born 29 August 1975, in Narragansett, Rhode Island) is a former racing driver. Boss raced in the Euro Formula 3000, Barber Dodge Pro Series and European Le Mans Series among other racing series. Boss retired from professional racing after the 2005 season. Career history Partnering with Team JVA, John Village Automotive Boss entered the Formula Opel Lotus, Formula Vauxhall Winter Series in Great Britain. The American competed three races in the series. Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is a road course auto racing facility located in Troy Township, Morrow County, Ohio, United States, just outside the village of Lexington. Mid-Ohio has also colloquially become a term for the entire north-central region of the state, from south of Sandusky to the north of Columbus. Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix
The Detroit Grand Prix (currently branded as the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear Corporation for sponsorship reasons) is an IndyCar Series race weekend held on a temporary circuit in Detroit, Michigan. The race has been held from 1989 to 2001, 2007 to 2008, and since 2012. Since 2012, the event has been scheduled for the weekend immediately following the Indianapolis 500. The origins of the event date back to the Formula One Detroit Grand Prix on the Detroit street circuit. Elkhart Lake is a village in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, United States, located within the northwestern part of the county within the Town of Rhine. The population was 967 at the 2010 census.
