The 1998–99 Perth Glory SC season was the club's third in the Australian National Soccer League (NSL) and the first where they made the finals series. Review and events In June 1998 the club announced that former East Germany manager Bernd Stange had been appointed as coach, replacing Gary Marocchi who had been sacked in April. Mich d'Avray, a former England under-21 international was appointed as Stange's assistant coach. Perth Glory FC
Perth Glory Football Club is an Australian professional soccer club based in Perth, Western Australia. It competes in the country's premier men's competition, A-League Men, under licence from Australian Professional Leagues. Founded in 1995, Perth Glory is one of three A-League clubs to survive from the now-defunct National Soccer League (NSL), playing their debut match in this competition in October 1996 for the 1996–97 season. The club was known historically as Juventus — the original name given to the club by its founders in Adelaide's Italian community. Gareth Naven
Gareth Naven (born 3 March 1969) is an Australian football coach and former player. He is currently the development officer at Football West and coach of Bayswater City SC in the NPL. Playing career Naven was born in 1969 in the English town of Wigan before his family moved to Perth, Australia. He was a junior with Gosnells but made his initial impact with Bayswater Inter in 1985. In the same year, he and his twin brother Craig were selected in the Australia Under-16 national team that reached the quarter-finals of the World Under-16 championship in China. In 1986 he received a scholarship to attend the Australian Institute of Sport. In 1987, Naven was a member of the Schoolboy Australia team that toured New Zealand. Marconi Stallions Football Club is an Australian semi-professional soccer club based in Fairfield, Sydney, New South Wales. The club has been crowned Australian champion four times. The Stallions are the soccer team of Club Marconi, a social and sporting club founded in 1958 by immigrants from Italy who settled in Sydney's western suburbs. West Adelaide Soccer Club is an Australian soccer club currently playing in the South Australian State League 1. Traditionally named Hellas, the club was founded by members of the Greek community of Adelaide. West Adelaide became a founding member of the National Soccer League in 1977 and a year later became the first Adelaide team to be crowned national champion when it won the 1978 National Soccer League after a 1–1 draw in the final round match with Adelaide City in the local derby. Falcons 2000 Soccer Club is an Australian semi-professional soccer club based in the regional Victorian city of Morwell.
