The Football League ( el, Φούτμπολ Λιγκ) was the second highest professional football league in Greece since its inception in 1962 as ''Beta Ethniki'' and until 2019. It then served as a third tier after the creation of the Super League 2 as the new second tier and it was eventually abolished in 2021 when the 2021–22 Super League 2 went from a 12 team to a 36 team league, absorbing most of the clubs from the Football League. Dušan Jovanović ( sr, Душан Јовановић; born 5 June 1971) is a retired footballer who played as a forward for clubs in Greece. Playing career Jovanović spent most of his career playing for clubs in the Greek second division, including Pontii Veria F.C., Panetolikos F.C., Panserraikos F.C. and Panachaiki F.C. Miloš Dabić (; born 14 November 1969) is a Serbian former footballer who played as a striker. Career After starting out at Radnički Kragujevac, Dabić played for Spartak Subotica in the 1990–91 Yugoslav First League (scoring one goal in 20 appearances), but moved to Rad during the season (7 games played). He recorded another 19 appearances and scored two goals for Rad in the 1991–92 Yugoslav First League, before moving abroad. Miodrag Medan ( sr-cyr, Миодраг Медан; born 27 April 1970) is a Bosnian Serb former footballer who played as a forward for clubs in Yugoslavia and Greece. Club career Born in Mostar, SR Bosnia and Herzegovina, SFR Yugoslavia, Medan began his career playing for local side FK Lokomotiva Mostar. He would spend the next few seasons in Serbian football with FK Bačka (BP) and FK Rad. In December 1995, Medan joined Greek first division side Paniliakos F.C. for six months, appearing in 19 league matches for the club. The 1999–2000 Gamma Ethniki was the 17th season since the official establishment of the third tier of Greek football in 1983. Akratitos was crowned champion, thus winning promotion to Beta Ethniki. Nafpaktiakos Asteras also won promotion as a runner-up of the league. S.F.K. Pierikos ( el, Σ.Φ.Κ. Πιερικός) is a Greek football club based in Katerini, Greece, part of the major multi-sport club of the same name.
