The 1998 Campeonato Nacional, known as Campeonato Nacional Copa Banco del Estado 1998 for sponsorship purposes, was the 67th season of top-flight football in Chile. Colo-Colo won their 22nd title following a 2–1 home win against Deportes Iquique on 13 December. Universidad Católica also qualified for the next Copa Libertadores as Liguilla winners. Chilean Primera División
The Chilean Primera División (English: First Division) is the top-tier league of the Chilean football league system. It is organized by the ''Asociación Nacional de Fútbol Profesional, ANFP''. The league is known as the Campeonato AFP PlanVital for sponsorship reasons. Format As of the 2018 season, 16 teams compete in the league, playing against each other two times, home and away. Relegation and promotion Currently, the two teams with the worst scores in the season, are relegated to Primera B, and replaced by the Champions and Runners-up of this Division. Qualification for international competitions The champions of the Campeonato are immediately qualified to the Copa Libertadores for the next year, as well as the second and third place. Luis Patricio Ormazábal Mozó (born February 12, 1979), known as Patricio Ormazábal, is a Chilean football manager and former footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career As a child, Ormazábal was with Escuela de Fútbol Municipal de Curicó (Municipal Football Academy of Curicó), later named Juventud 2000, what was founded by the former professional footballer Luis Hernán Álvarez.
