1998 Norwegian First Division
The 1998 1. divisjon, Norway's second-tier football league, began play on 19 April 1998 and ended on 18 October 1998. The league was contested by 14 teams, and the top two teams won promotion to Tippeligaen, while the third placed played a promotion-playoff against the 12th-placed team in Tippeligaen to win promotion. The bottom four teams were relegated to the 2. divisjon. Odd Grenland and Skeid won promotion to Tippeligaen, while Kjelsås lost the promotion-playoff against Kongsvinger. Aalesund, Strindheim, Ullern and Ham-Kam was relegated to the 2. divisjon. IL Hødd
Idrottslaget Hødd is a multi-sports club from Ulsteinvik in Møre og Romsdal, Norway. Founded in 1919, it has sections for team handball, gymnastics and football. It is best known for their men's football team, which since 2015 plays at Høddvoll, whose stated capacity is 4,081. The club's old home ground, Høddvoll Stadion, holds the record attendance of over 12,000 spectators at a match against Vålerenga in 1981. Hødd are currently playing in 2. divisjon, the third tier of Norwegian football. Trond Nordseth
Trond Nordseth (born 5 January 1974) is a retired Norway, Norwegian football striker; late in his career football defender, defender. He grew up in the club Sparbu IL, Sparbu and represented Norway as a youth international. Ahead of the 1993 season he was picked up by Steinkjer FK. Ahead of the 1997 season he was pronounced captain (association football), captain. Ahead of the 1998 season he trialled with Rosenborg, Molde and Aalesund, but joined Byåsen TF, Byåsen. He scored 12 league goals, and was bought by IK Start, Start where he managed the same feat in 1999 1. divisjon, 1999. Start won promotion, and in the 2000 Tippeligaen, 2000 Eliteserien Nordseth played 23 games. He went on to Romerike Fotball, Romerike in 2002, then Steinkjer in mid-2002, Byåsen again in 2005 and Levanger FK, Levanger in 2007. In the spring of 2008 he started another season for Levanger, but then moved to Kristiansand to work in advertising and quit his career. References

Ole Petter Skonnord
Ole Petter Skonnord (born 6 July 1968) is a retired Norwegian football striker. He hails from Ridabu. He joined Hamarkameratene as a child and got one season on senior level before moving on to Elverum in 1989. In 1994 he rejoined Hamarkameratene, now in Eliteserien, and got 12 games. He moved down one level to Skeid, but won promotion to 1996 Eliteserien where he played 24 games. Not offered a new contract with Skeid in 1997, he went on trial with Dundee F.C. during the winter of 1996–97, but was ultimately not offered a transfer. Lyn Fotball
Lyn 1896 Fotballklubb () is a Norwegian football club and a department of the sports club Ski- og Fotballklubben Lyn based in Oslo, whose members also participate in Nordic skiing and orienteering. Until 2010, SFK Lyn had two football departments, one professional section and one amateur section. After the professional football department, FK Lyn, was bankrupted in 2010, the fans decided to support the amateur department, Lyn Fotball, instead. The 1999 2. divisjon was the third highest football league for men in Norway. 22 games were played in 8 groups, with 3 points given for wins and 1 for draws. Hamarkameratene (literally ''the Hamar Comrades''), often abbreviated to HamKam or Ham-Kam, is a Norwegian football club based in the town of Hamar. The club was founded in 1918, originally under the name Freidig. HamKam were most recently promoted to the Eliteserien in 2021.
