List Of NASCAR Nationwide Series Champions
The NASCAR Xfinity Series Drivers' Championship is awarded by the chairman in NASCAR to the most successful Xfinity Series racing car driver over a season, as determined by a points system based on race results. The Drivers' Championship was first awarded in 1982, to Jack Ingram. The first driver to win multiple Championships was Sam Ard in 1983 and 1984. The current Drivers' Champion is Daniel Hemric who won his first NASCAR Xfinity Series championship in 2021. As of the 2016 season, the Championship has been decided using NASCAR's “Playoff” system. 12 drivers qualify for the Playoffs; race winners are automatically locked in and the remainder is set by the highest non-winners in the points standings. Roy Norris "Buckshot" Jones (born July 23, 1970) is an American racing driver who has competed in NASCAR and sprint cars. He most recently ran in the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series. Life and career Jones earned the nickname "Buckshot" from his grandfather after he ran into a table and showed no signs of pain or agony. His racing career began as a hobby during his studies at the University of Georgia, where he earned a business degree. Jones originally wanted to race motocross, but his dad suggested stock cars since they were safer. After his sixth race Jones went out to dinner with his father, where he told him that he wanted to be a NASCAR champion. He and his father then developed a six-year plan that would allow Jones to move up the ladder and begin to fulfill his dream. The Grand Prix is a line of automobiles produced by the Pontiac Division of General Motors from 1962 until 2002 for coupes and 1989–2008 for sedans. Buckshot Racing is a former NASCAR team owned by Billy Jones and competed in the Winston Cup and Busch Series. The team compiled a total of four wins throughout its history. The team debuted in 1995 with Jones' son Buckshot driving. Jones made his debut at The Milwaukee Mile with Longhorn Steakhouse sponsorship. Jones ran a total of nine races that season, finishing ninth at South Boston Speedway. The following season, they ran a total of eighteen races with Aquafresh sponsoring. Mark Green (racing Driver)
Mark Green (born April 8, 1959) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He is the brother of drivers, Jeff Green and David Green. Beginnings Mark Green began his racing career in 1973, racing go-karts in the Southern Indiana Racing Association. During his tenure, he won six consecutive championships. He then moved on to the late model division at several local speedways. Among the tracks he competed on were Nashville Speedway USA, Beech Bend Raceway and Kentucky Motor Speedway. From 1988 to 1991, he also competed in the All-American Challenge Series. In 1993, he won 16 of 20 races at Beech Bend and won the track championships there, from 1991 to 1993. 1995–2000 Green made his Busch debut in 1995 at Indianapolis Raceway Park. Brewco Motorsports was a racing team that competed in the NASCAR Busch Series (now the Xfinity Series). The team was owned from 1995 until 2007 by Clarence Brewer Jr., his wife Tammy, and Todd Wilkerson. The team won 10 races over 13 seasons in the Busch Series, and entered a single NASCAR Nextel Cup Series race in 2004. The team was sold to Mike Curb and Gary Baker with nine races left in the 2007 season, with both Brewco entries becoming part of Baker-Curb Racing.
