The 1998 Cerveza Club Colombia Open was a men's tennis tournament played on Clay in Bogotá, Colombia that was part of the International Series of the 1998 ATP Tour. It was the fifth edition of the tournament and was held from 2 November – 8 November. Mariano Zabaleta
Mariano Zabaleta (born 28 February 1978) is a retired professional male tennis player from Argentina. He had an unusual but effective service motion. His best shot was his forehand and his favourite surface was clay. Zabaleta's career highlights include reaching the quarter-finals of the 2001 US Open and the final of the 1999 Hamburg Masters. Guillermo Cañas
Guillermo Ignacio Cañas (; born November 25, 1977), often referred to as Willy Cañas, is a retired tennis player from Argentina. He was born in Buenos Aires and named after Argentine tennis star Guillermo Vilas. Cañas won the 2002 Canada Masters – Singles, Canada Masters in 2002, and reached the quarterfinal stage of the French Open in 2002, 2005 and 2007. His career-high singles ranking was world No. 8, achieved in June 2005. Mauricio Hadad
Mauricio Hadad (born 7 December 1971) is a former tennis player from Colombia and former captain of the Colombia Davis Cup Team. Hadad is of Lebanese background. The right-hander turned pro in 1988 and reached his highest individual ranking on the ATP Tour on September 11, 1995, when he became World No. 78. He won the ATP Bermuda Open in 1995. He is the only Colombian tennis player in history to have won an ATP Tour title in singles. His best performance at a Grand Slam came at the 1996 Australian Open and the 1995 U.S. Open where he made it to the third round. Hadad participated in 20 Davis Cup ties for Colombia from 1989–2001 and holds the record for most wins with 35 victories, posting a 23-5 record in singles and a 12-6 record in doubles. Steve Campbell (tennis)
Steve Campbell (born October 22, 1970) is a former professional tennis player from the United States. Career Campbell grew up in Michigan where he attended Detroit Catholic Central High School, winning individual state championships all four years along with back-to-back team state championships. He was an All-American while at Rice University. At the 1989 Boys' Junior National Tennis Championship, he lost in the 1st round of the Boys' 18 singles, but he and Rick Witsken reached the finals of the Boys' 18 doubles, falling to Cary Lothringer and Brian MacPhie. He made his Grand Slam debut at the 1995 Australian Open and defeated countryman Chuck Adams in the opening encounter, before losing his second round match to Patrick Rafter. Karim Alami ( ar, كريم علمي) (born 24 May 1973) is a retired tennis player from Morocco, who turned professional in 1990. The right-hander won two career titles in singles, both in 1996 (Atlanta and Palermo), and reached a career-high ATP singles ranking of world No. 25, in February 2000. Alami reached the semifinals of the 2000 Monte Carlo Masters, defeating Magnus Norman and Albert Costa en route. Lucas Arnold Ker (; born 12 October 1974) is an Argentine former professional tennis player. Arnold Ker started playing tennis in the Olivos Tenis Club of Buenos Aires, under coach Malcolm Campbell. André Rezende Sá (; born 6 May 1977) is a former Brazilian tennis player. In singles, he was a Wimbledon quarterfinalist in 2002. Sá reached the semifinals of ATP tournaments in Memphis and Hong Kong in 2000 and 2001 respectively. He reached a career-high doubles ranking of world No. 17, winning 11 doubles titles. Nicolás Alejandro Massú Fried (; born 10 October 1979), nicknamed ''El Vampiro'' (Spanish, 'the vampire'), is a Chilean former professional tennis player.
