The 1998 All-Big 12 Conference football team consists of American football players chosen as All-Big 12 Conference players for the 1998 NCAA Division I-A football season. The conference recognizes two official All-Big 12 selectors: (1) the Big 12 conference coaches selected separate offensive and defensive units and named first-, second- and third-team players (the "Coaches" team); and (2) a panel of sports writers and broadcasters covering the Big 12 also selected offensive and defensive units and named first- and second-team players (the "Media" team). Wane McGarity
Wane Keith McGarity (born September 30, 1976) is a former American football wide receiver and return specialist in the National Football League and Canadian Football League for the Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, Calgary Stampeders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round of the 1999 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of Texas. Early years McGarity attended Tom C. Clark High School. As a junior, he was the starter at running back, registering 890 rushing yards before suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. As a senior, he rushed for 1,606 yards and 22 touchdowns on 233 carries. He was a three-time district champion in the 100 metres, qualifying twice for the state finals. Kenyatta Wright
Kenyatta Terrell Wright (born February 19, 1978 in Vian, Oklahoma) is a former American football linebacker who played for the New York Jets of the NFL from 2003-2005. He was a four-year starter for Oklahoma State University, where he recorded 260 career tackles, 11 sacks, and 1 fumble recovery. He was signed as a free agent in 2000 by the Buffalo Bills. Was the vaunted leader of the Oklahoma State "Orange Crush Defense". Professional career As an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma State University, he first signed with the Buffalo Bills and played for two years under defensive co-ordinator Ted Cottrell. Mark Lee Simoneau (born January 16, 1977) is a former American college and professional football player who was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for ten seasons. He played college football for Kansas State University and was recognized as an All-American. He was picked by the Atlanta Falcons in the third round of the 2000 NFL Draft, and played for the Falcons, Philadelphia Eagles, New Orleans Saints and Kansas City Chiefs of the NFL. Dat Tan Nguyen (; vi, Nguyễn Tấn Đạt, ; born September 25, 1975) is a former American football linebacker who played professionally in the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football for Texas A&M University, and earned All-American honors. He is the first Vietnamese-American to be drafted, play, and be recognized as an All-Pro in the NFL. In 2017, Nguyen was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame. Willie Montae Reagor (; born June 29, 1977) is a former defensive tackle who spent nine seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for Texas Tech University, and he was recognized as an All-American. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the second round of the 1999 NFL Draft, and also played for the Broncos, Indianapolis Colts (with whom he won Super Bowl XLI) and Philadelphia Eagles of the NFL.
