The 1998 3 Nations Cup was a women's ice hockey tournament held in Finland from December 10–16, 1998. It was the third edition of the 3 Nations Cup. Petra Vaarakallio
Petra Maria Paulina Vaarakallio (born 17 June 1975 in Helsinki) is a Finland, Finnish retired ice hockey player and ringette player. She played on the women's ice hockey team for Finland at the 1998 Winter Olympics, and won a bronze medal. Vaarakallio scored the first-ever goal in women's ice hockey at the Olympics. Vaarakallio won the 1992 World Ringette Championships bronze. She stopped playing ringette after receiving a six-month suspension for kicking an opponent who was lying on the ice. Overtime (ice Hockey)
Overtime is a method of determining a winner in an ice hockey game when the score is tied after regulation. The main methods of determining a winner in a tied game are the overtime period (commonly referred to as overtime), the shootout, or a combination of both. If league rules dictate a finite time in which overtime may be played, with no penalty shoot-out to follow, the game's winning team may or may not be necessarily determined. Overtime periods Overtime periods are extra periods beyond the third regulation period during a game, where normal hockey rules apply. Amanda Benoit-Wark
Amanda Benoit-Wark (born January 22, 1976) is a Canadian ice hockey player. Benoit-Wark played for the Canada women's national ice hockey team from 1996 to 2004. Benoit is a two-time World Champion playing in both 1999 and 2000 World Championships. Playing career During the 1980s, she played organized hockey in Welland, Ontario and with the Stoney Creek Minor Hockey Association, capturing MVP honours at Stoney Creek in 1988. In 1993, she was selected to play with Team Ontario Red at the 1993 Canadian national women's under-18 championship. Not only would she emerge with the gold medal, but she was recognized as the tournament's Most Valuable Player. With the Beatrice Aeros of the former Central Ontario Women's Hockey League (COWHL), Benoit-Wark appeared at the Esso Women's National Championships on seven occasions. Nancy Drolet
Nancy Drolet (born August 2, 1973) is a Canadian ice hockey player, international public speaker and philanthropist. She is the daughter of Denis Drolet and Viviane Dubé. Nancy has won 6 gold medals for Canada with the Canadian women's hockey team. Drolet was named Sports Federation Canada Junior Athlete of the Year in 1992. After her Olympic career, she started traveling the world and giving conferences in schools. Nancy is famous for her phrase '' School is the foundation of every child''. Cassie Campbell
Cassie Dawin Campbell-Pascall (born November 22, 1973) is a former Canadian ice hockey player and a current broadcaster for Sportsnet and ESPN. Born in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Campbell grew up in Brampton, Ontario, playing for the Brampton Canadettes. She was the captain of the Canadian women's ice hockey team during the 2002 Winter Olympics and led the team to a gold medal. The left winger took on the role of captain again in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy, and again successfully led her team to a gold medal with a 4 – 1 win over Sweden. Kim St-Pierre (born December 14, 1978 in Châteauguay, Quebec) is a Canadian ice hockey player. She is a three-time Olympic gold medallist and five-time IIHF world champion. Catherine Michelle Granato (born March 25, 1971) is an American former ice hockey player and one of the first women to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in November 2010. She currently works as an assistant general manager for the Vancouver Canucks organization. Granato was the captain of the U.S. women's hockey team that won a gold medal in the 1998 Winter Olympics. She is the younger sister of former NHL player Tony Granato and Buffalo Sabres head coach Don Granato, and a graduate of Providence College.
