Svenska Cupen 1997–98 was the 43rd season of the main Swedish football Cup. The final of the competition took place on 14 May 1998 and was held in Gothenburg. Örgryte IS and Helsingborgs IF drew 1–1 before an attendance of 2,559 spectators. The replay was held in Helsingborg a week later with the score also 1–1 with Helsingborgs IF winning 3–0 on penalties. Public interest was much greater for this match with an attendance of 13,092. Helsingborgs IF
Helsingborgs IF (full name Helsingborgs Idrottsförening), commonly referred to as HIF (), is a Swedish professional football club located in Helsingborg. They play in the Swedish first tier, Allsvenskan, following promotion in the 2021 Superettan season via play-offs. Formed in 1907, the club has won five national championship titles and five national cup titles. Helsingborgs IF have also won Allsvenskan on two occasions when the title of Swedish champions was not decided by the outcome of that league. Helsingborg was a founder member of Allsvenskan, and between 1924 and 1968 they spent all but two seasons in the top division, and won the league five times. At the end of the 1968 season, HIF was relegated, and while most people initially expected a quick return, they went on to spend the next 24 seasons in the lower leagues before finally getting promoted back to the top flight in 1992. Kristianstads DFF is a women's association football club from Kristianstad, Sweden. The club is affiliated to the Skånes Fotbollförbund. History The original club Wä IF played in from 1989 to 1994 in the Damallsvenskan. The club was reformed in 1998 when Kristianstads FF merged with Wä IF to become Kristianstad / Wä DFF. Växjö BK is a Swedish football club located in Växjö in Kronoberg County. Background Växjö Bollklubb was formed on 20 January 1924 at a meeting at the Roséns café. Fotbollsföreningen Tigrarna had the previous year applied to join the Swedish Football Association but had been turned down because there was already a team from Stockholm with the same name. Therefore, it was decided that the club would be called Växjö BK. The club currently has around 1,700 members including an active youth section. Ystads IF is a handball club from Ystad, Sweden. They play in Handbollsligan. They won the Swedish Championship in 1976, 1992 and 2022. History Ystads IF was founded in 1908 and took up handball on the programme in 1929. In 1933–34, the club won an unofficial six-team league consisting of teams from the cities of Ystad and Kristianstad.
