1997–98 Singer Akai Champions Trophy
The 1997 Singer-Akai Champions Trophy was held in Sharjah, UAE, between December 11-19, 1997. Four national teams took part: England, India, Pakistan, and West Indies. The 1997 Singer-Akai Champions Trophy started with a round-robin tournament where each team played the other once. The two leading teams qualified for the final. England won the tournament and US$40,000. Runners-up West Indies won US$25,000. One Day International
A One Day International (ODI) is a form of limited overs cricket, played between two teams with international status, in which each team faces a fixed number of overs, currently 50, with the game lasting up to 9 hours. The Cricket World Cup, generally held every four years, is played in this format. One Day International matches are also called Limited Overs Internationals (LOI), although this generic term may also refer to Twenty20 International matches. They are major matches and considered the highest standard of List A, limited-overs competition. The international one day game is a late-twentieth-century development. Vinod Kambli (; born 18 January 1972) is a former Indian international Cricketer, who played for India as a left-handed middle order batsman, as well as for Mumbai and Boland, South Africa.
