1997 U.S. Figure Skating Championships
The 1997 U.S. Figure Skating Championships took place between February 8 and February 16, 1997, in Nashville, Tennessee. The primary venue was the Bridgestone Arena, Nashville Arena and the secondary was the Nashville Municipal Auditorium. Skaters competed in five disciplines across three levels. The disciplines of the competition were single skating, men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, ice dancing, and compulsory figures. The levels of competition were Senior, Junior, and Novice. Medals were awarded in four colors: gold (first), silver (second), bronze (third), and pewter (fourth). In the figures event, the novice competitors skated one figure, and the juniors and seniors skated three. Nashville, Tennessee

Quad (figure Skating)
A quad, or quadruple, is a figure skating jump with at least four (but fewer than five) revolutions. All quadruple jumps have four revolutions, except for the quadruple Axel, which has four and a half revolutions. The quadruple toe loop and quadruple Salchow are the two most commonly performed quads. Quadruple jumps have become increasingly common among World and Olympic level men's single skaters, to the point that not performing a quad in a program has come to be seen as a severe handicap. This phenomenon is often referred to as the "quad revolution". Since 2018, quadruple jumps have also become an increasingly common feature of women's skating, although they are not allowed under the ISU rules in the ladies' short program. Philip Dulebohn (born September 13, 1973 in Silver Spring, Maryland) is an American pair skater Pair skating is a figure skating discipline defined by the International Skating Union (ISU) as "the skating of two persons in unison who perform their movements in such harmony with each other as to give the impression of genuine Pair Skating a .... Derrick Delmore (born December 12, 1978) is an American figure skater. He is the 1998 World Junior champion, the 2000 Nebelhorn Trophy silver medalist, 2000 Karl Schäfer Memorial bronze medalist, and 1999 U.S. National Collegiate champion. Personal life Derrick Delmore was born on December 12, 1978 at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland. In 1995, he was awarded the Paderewski medal for a decade of playing classical piano at the national level. He attended Stanford University, graduating in June 2000 with a double major in communications and psychology. Derrick is married to San Francisco-based physician Dr. Kenneth Leong. Shepherd Walton Clark (born March 1, 1971) is a famous American competitive figure skater and the reigning World Figure Champion of The World Figure Sport Society. In 2022, he defended his World Figure Championship title, becoming The 2022 World Figure & Fancy Skating Champion, as well as the overall World Figure & Fancy Skating Champion. Jere Michael (born May 17, 1977) is an American former competitive figure skater. He is the 1997 Piruetten bronze medalist, 1994 World Junior bronze medalist, and 1994 U.S. national junior champion. Early in his career, he was coached by Brian Wright and Christy Krall. He represented the Broadmoor Figure Skating Club in Colorado Springs, Colorado, before moving to the University of Delaware Figure Skating Club. Michael Chack
Michael Chack (born August 25, 1971) is an American former competitive figure skater. He won gold medals at four senior international events, Nebelhorn Trophy, Karl Schäfer Memorial, Piruetten, and Winter Universiade, and one bronze, at the 1994 Trophée de France. Chack also won one senior national medal, bronze at the 1993 U.S. Championships. After his performance was skipped by the broadcaster, his surname became part of figure skating's colloquial vocabulary, e.g. "to chack" meaning to omit a good performance from a television broadcast. Chack withdrew from the 1994 U.S. Championships due to a groin pull and a stress fracture in his right leg. He was coached by Peter Burrows for 14 years and by Frank Carroll for five years. Timothy Richard Goebel (born September 10, 1980) is an American former competitive figure skater. He is the 2002 Olympic bronze medalist. He was the first person to land a quadruple salchow jump in competition and the first person to land three quadruple jumps in one program. He landed 76 career quadruple jumps before his retirement in 2006. Personal life Goebel was born on September 10, 1980, in Evanston, Illinois. Scott Davis (born January 29, 1972) is an American former competitive figure skater. He is a two-time (1993–94) U.S. national champion and represented the United States at the 1994 Winter Olympics, where he placed 8th. Career Davis began his career when he won the U.S. junior national title during the 1989–90 season and began competing on the senior level nationally the following season. In the 1992–93 season, Davis won silver at 1992 Skate America and 1992 Skate Canada International.
