1997 All-Big 12 Conference Football Team
The 1997 All-Big 12 Conference football team consists of American football players chosen as All-Big 12 Conference players for the 1997 NCAA Division I-A football season. The conference recognizes two official All-Big 12 selectors: (1) the Big 12 conference coaches selected separate offensive and defensive units and named first-, second- and third-team players (the "Coaches" team); and (2) a panel of sports writers and broadcasters covering the Big 12 also selected offensive and defensive units and named first- and second-team players (the "Media" team). Steve McKinney
Stephen Michael McKinney (born October 15, 1975) is a former offensive guard in the National Football League. He was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the fourth round of the 1998 NFL Draft. He played college football at Texas A&M. He is the older brother of former NFL offensive lineman Seth McKinney. He is the first-born son of former Texas A&M University System Chancellor Mike McKinney. Warrick Donte Holdman (born November 22, 1975) is a former American football linebacker. He was originally drafted by the Chicago Bears in the fourth round of the 1999 NFL Draft. He played college football at Texas A&M. Early years Holdman was a Super Prep All-American selection, first team Class 5A all-state and all-greater Houston first team as a senior at Alief Elsik High School in Alief. He was rated as one of the top linebackers in the nation after totaling 151 tackles and three sacks as a senior. College career Holdman was recruited by Texas A&M University and granted medical redshirt in 1994. Mark Simoneau
Mark Lee Simoneau (born January 16, 1977) is a former American college and professional football player who was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for ten seasons. He played college football for Kansas State University and was recognized as an All-American. He was picked by the Atlanta Falcons in the third round of the 2000 NFL Draft, and played for the Falcons, Philadelphia Eagles, New Orleans Saints and Kansas City Chiefs of the NFL. Dat Tan Nguyen (; vi, Nguyễn Tấn Đạt, ; born September 25, 1975) is a former American football linebacker who played professionally in the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football for Texas A&M University, and earned All-American honors. He is the first Vietnamese-American to be drafted, play, and be recognized as an All-Pro in the NFL. In 2017, Nguyen was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame. Kelly Michael Gregg (born November 1, 1976) is a radio personality and a former American football nose tackle.
