1996–97 NOFV-Oberliga
The 1996–97 season of the NOFV-Oberliga was the third season of the league at tier four (IV) of the German football league system. The NOFV-Oberliga was split into two divisions, NOFV-Oberliga Nord and NOFV-Oberliga Süd. The champions of each, SV Babelsberg 03 and 1. FC Magdeburg, as well as F.C. NOFV-Oberliga
The NOFV- Oberliga is a division at step 5 of the German football league system. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, it became the successor of the DDR-Oberliga, and functions today as a 5th division in the former territory of East Germany and the city of Berlin. This league is named after the Nordostdeutscher Fußballverband (NOFV: North-East German Football Association), the regional association of the DFB in the former East German territories. The league is currently split in two groups, north and south, the NOFV-Oberliga Nord and NOFV-Oberliga Süd. FV Motor Eberswalde
FV Preussen Eberswalde is a German association football club from Eberswalde, Brandenberg northeast of Berlin. History The club was founded on 1 July 1909 as ''FC Preussen Eberswalde'' (FC Prussia Eberswalde) and steadily improved in the period leading up to World War I advancing to play in the top local league. The club nearly collapsed during the war but resumed play in 1920 and soon returned to its previous good form going through the 1922–23 season with only a single loss and advancing to the country's second highest play class. After the rise to power of the Nazis in 1933 German football was re-structured and ''Prussia'' kept its place playing in the second tier Oberliga. VfL Halle 1896 is a German football club from the city of Halle (Saale) in Saxony-Anhalt. History The oldest club in the city of Halle was founded as ''Hallescher Fußballclub von 1896'' on 16 July 1896. ''HFC'' was one of a dozen clubs that formed the VMBV (Verbandes Mitteldeutscher Ballspielvereine or Federation of Middle German Football Teams) on 16 December 1900 and was a founding member of the DFB (Deutscher Fußball-Bund) in Leipzig in January 1900. In 1909 the club was the first in the country to purchase its own grounds and on 10 September 1910 hosted ''VfB Leipzig'' in their new stadium facility. SV Fortuna Magdeburg is a German association football club from the city of Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt. History The club was founded 1 August 1911 as Magdeburger Fußball-Verein Fortuna 1911. An earlier unrelated side known as Fussball Club Fortuna Magdeburg played in the Verband Magdeburger Ballspiel-Vereine (Federation of Magdeburg Ballplay Teams) between 1901 and 1904, including an appearance in the 1903–04 league final, soon after which the club was dissolved. The 1997–98 Regionalliga was the fourth season of the Regionalliga as the third tier of German football. The league was organised in four regional divisions, Nord, Nordost, West-Südwest and Süd. SD Croatia Berlin is a German football club from Berlin. History The club was founded in 1972 as the ethnically Croatian side ''NK Croatia Berlin'' and was renamed ''NK Hajduk Berlin'' in 1985. ASG Vorwärts Dessau is a German association football club based in Dessau-Roßlau, Saxony-Anhalt. History ASG Vorwärts At the end of the 1973–74 season of the second-tier DDR-Liga the leadership of the Armeesportvereinigung Vorwärts decided to move ASG Vorwärts Leipzig to Dessau. Consequently, the Armeesportgemeinschaft (ASG) Vorwärts Dessau was founded on 4 September 1974, taking over the league spot from Leipzig with the start of the 1974–75 season. The team's first match was a friendly against a representative team from Haiphong in Vietnam in front of more than 10,000 spectators. SG Bornim is a German association football club based in Bornim, an Ortsteil of Potsdam in Brandenburg. History Founded in September 1927, the club merged with ''Schwarz-Weiß-Grün Universum Töplitz'' in 1928 to play as ''Brandenburger Sport Club Bornim Schwarz-Weiß-Grün''. The club played in the local Havelland circuit until 1945. Following World War II, the club was disbanded before being re-established as ''Sportmeinde Bornim''. Hertha BSC II is the reserve team of Hertha BSC that is based in Berlin, Germany. Historically, during the time the senior team played in professional football the team has played as Hertha BSC Amateure. Since 2005 it permanently plays under its current name. The team currently plays in the tier four Regionalliga Nordost. The team's greatest achievement is reaching the final of the DFB-Pokal in 1993 – the only reserve team to have achieved this.
