The First Professional Football League ( bg, Първа професионална футболна лига, Parva Profesionalna Futbolna Liga), also known as the Bulgarian First League or Parva Liga, currently known as the efbet League for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league, located at the top of the Bulgarian football league system. PFC Velbazhd Kyustendil
Velbazhd Kyustendil ( bg, Велбъжд Кюстендил) is a Bulgarian association football club based in Kyustendil. The club currently competes in the A RFG Kyustendil, the fourth tier of Bulgarian football. The club was founded in 1919. Velbazhd have spent the majority of their playing history between the second and third tiers of the Bulgarian football league system. They won first promotion to the A Group in 1954, and have played a total of 7 seasons in the top flight, with a longest continuous spell of six seasons (1995–2001). This is generally seen as the club's most successful period. Filip Filipov-Ficho
Filip Filipov ( bg, Филип Филипов; born 31 January 1971), is a former Bulgarian football defender. Club career Filipov began his career at the local "Sliven". His first spell at PFC CSKA Sofia spanned one season (1990–91), after which he moved to Lokomotiv GO, and then played a short time for Jeju United of South Korean K League, then known as Yukong Elephant and Bucheon SK, only to return to PFC CSKA Sofia for another year. He then spent some time playing in LEKS ( Litex) before again returning to PFC CSKA Sofia for a third spell since December 1997. Adalbert Zafirov
Adalbert Zafirov ( bg, Адалберт Зафиров; born 29 September 1969) is a Bulgarian former football centre-back who most recently managed CSKA 1948. Club career Zafirov was born in Sofia. International career He has been capped for the Bulgarian national team, and was an unused substitute at the 1998 FIFA World Cup. Coaching career On 30 March 2010, CSKA Sofia coach Ioan Andone resigned, it was announced that the team will be trained by Adalbert Zafirov until the end of the season. Zafirov was appointed as head coach of Cherno More Varna in late September 2012, following the resignation of Stefan Genov. Second Professional Football League (Bulgaria)
The Bulgarian Second Professional Football League ( bg, Втора професионална футболна лига, Vtora Profesionalna Futbolna Liga), also known as Second League ( bg, Втора Лига) or Vtora liga, is the second level of the Bulgarian football league system, below First League and above the Third League. Sixteen teams take part in the league, each playing twice against all the other, once home and once away. Most matches are played on Saturdays and Sundays. The league is administered by the Bulgarian Professional Football League. In 2016, the B Group's name was rebranded to Second Professional Football League. FC Montana
FC Montana ( bg, ФК Монтана) is a Bulgarian association football club based in Montana, which currently plays in the Second League, the second level of Bulgarian football league system. Montana plays its home matches at the Ogosta Stadium, which has a capacity of 8,000 spectators. The club's traditional colours are blue, white and red. After a prolonged period of absence, they were propelled back into professional football in the mid 90s with the help of some experienced and talented footballers, including the ex-captain of English Aston Villa and Bulgarian international Stiliyan Petrov. FC Montana was founded in 1921 when the few amateur sports clubs and organizations in the city decided to merge into one club. FC Etar (Veliko Tarnovo)
Football Club Etar, or FC ETAR Veliko Turnovo, (Bulgarian: ФК ЕТЪР Велико Търново), was a Bulgarian professional association football club from Veliko Tarnovo. Founded on 24 April 1924, the club spent most of its history in the Bulgarian A PFG. Their most successful period came under the management of Georgi Vasilev, between 1987 and 1992. Etar won the championship in 1990–91, which qualified the team for the 1991–92 European Cup, the first and only time Etar has played in the premier European competition. Following the success in 1991, Etar began a gradual decline in terms of performance, culminating in relegation from the top flight, as well as increasing financial problems. In 2003, the club was formally dissolved, due to inability to cover financial costs needed for professional football. OFC Spartak Pleven
OFK Spartak ( bg, ОФК Спартак) is a Bulgarian municipal association football club from the city of Pleven founded on 10 September 1919. It currently competes in the Second League, the second tier of Bulgarian football. The team's greatest achievements are the Bulgarian Cup final in 1957 and the third place in the Bulgarian Championship during the following season. Spartak was once among the most prominent and consistent teams in the Bulgarian A Group. Between 1952 and 1988, Spartak only missed 5 seasons of top flight football.
