1996 NCAA Skiing Championships
The 1996 NCAA Skiing Championships were contested at the Bridger Bowl Ski Area in Bozeman, Montana as part of the 43rd annual NCAA-sanctioned ski tournament to determine the individual and team national champions of men's and women's collegiate slalom and cross-country skiing in the United States. Utah, coached by Pat Miller, won the team championship, the Utes' eighth title overall and seventh as a co-ed team. Venue This year's NCAA skiing championships were hosted at the Bridger Bowl Ski Area near Bozeman, Montana. These were the fourth championships held in the state of Montana (1960, 1983, 1985, and 1996). Middlebury Panthers Ski Team
The Middlebury Panthers are the 31 varsity teams of Middlebury College that compete in the New England Small College Athletic Conference. The Panthers lead the NESCAC in total number of national championships, having won 34 team titles since the conference lifted its ban on NCAA play in 1994. Bowdoin Polar Bears
The Bowdoin Polar Bears are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent Bowdoin College, located in Brunswick, Maine. The Polar Bears compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC). The Montana State Bobcats are the varsity athletic teams representing Montana State University in Bozeman in intercollegiate athletics. The Bates Bobcats are the athletic teams of Bates College largely based in Lewiston, Maine and the surrounding areas. The Williams Ephs ( ) are the varsity intercollegiate athletic programs of Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts. The Northern Michigan Wildcats are the athletic teams that represent Northern Michigan University, located in Marquette, Michigan, in NCAA intercollegiate sporting competitions. All teams that play under NCAA governance compete at the NCAA Division II, Division II level, with three exceptions.
