Billboard Latin Music Awards
The ''Billboard'' Latin Music Awards grew out of the ''Billboard'' Music Awards program from ''Billboard'' magazine, an industry publication charting the sales and radio airplay success of musical recordings. The ''Billboard'' awards are the Latin music industry’s longest running award. The award ceremonies are held during the same week as Latinfest+ (formerly known as the ''Billboard'' Latin Music Conference). The first award ceremony began in 1994. In addition to awards given on the basis of success on the Billboard charts, the ceremony includes the Spirit of Hope award for humanitarian achievements and the Lifetime Achievement award, as well as awards by the broadcasting partner. Musician Enrique Iglesias has won 47 awards, the colombian Shakira has won 42 awards, and is the most awarded female. Enrique Iglesias (album)
''Enrique Iglesias'' is the debut studio album recorded by Spanish singer-songwriter Enrique Iglesias, it was released by Fonovisa on 21 November 1995 (see 1995 in music). The album was a success and topped the Latin charts. It also won the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album at the 39th Annual Grammy Awards on 26 February 1997. The album received a Gold certification in Portugal after a weeks of sales, and has sold more than 4 million copies worldwide. In the United States it was certified Platinum on 18 November 1996, becoming one of the best selling latin albums of all times in that country. Ana Gabriel
María Guadalupe Araujo Yong (born December 10, 1955), better known as Ana Gabriel, is a Mexican singer and songwriter from Guamuchil, Sinaloa, Mexico. She first sang on the stage at age six, singing "Regalo A Dios" by José Alfredo Jiménez. She moved to Tijuana, Baja California and studied accounting. At age 21, in 1977, she recorded her first song, titled "Compréndeme". During her long career, she has hits in three different genres of music: Latin pop and Mariachi. Pete Astudillo
Pedro Astudillo (born December 1, 1963) is an American singer and songwriter. He was a backup vocalist for Selena y Los Dinos and has released several albums as a solo artist. Early life Astudillo was born on December 1, 1963, in Laredo, Texas, to Pedro and Paz Astudillo. He was one of the leaders of the Tejano music scene, and from an early age followed mariachi and conjunto music. He began his musical career in a duo band called Los Bad Boyz alongside his friend Joe Ojeda in their hometown Laredo in 1985. In 1987, they were brought into a band, Selena y Los Dinos, by its manager, Abraham Quintanilla Jr., after opening a show for Los Dinos at a disco in Laredo. Astudillo became a backup vocalist for the Queen of Tejano, Selena, the lead member of the group. "Abriendo Puertas" (''Opening Doors'') is a 1995 song by Cuban American singer-songwriter Gloria Estefan, released as the first single from her second Spanish-language album, '' Abriendo Puertas''. A re-recorded version was later included on Estefan's 2020 album, ''Brazil305''. Song history ''"Abriendo Puertas"'' peaked at the top of the charts in Spain, Colombia and the US ''Billboard'' Hot Latin Tracks chart. Albita Rodríguez (born 6 June 1962 in Havana, Cuba), known in her music career simply as Albita, is a Grammy-winning Cuban singer, producer and composer. Albita was born in Havana, Cuba.
