1995–96 Croatian First Football League
The 1995-96 Croatian First Football League was the fifth season of the Croatian top-level league since its establishment. The season started on 13 August 1995 and concluded on 26 May 1996. This was the first season to feature separate A- and B- leagues, with a complicated two-stage format to the season. After the HNS changed plans during the course of the season, no relegation took place. Croatian First Football League
The Hrvatska nogometna liga () ( en, Croatian football league), also known as HNL or for sponsorship reasons the SuperSport HNL, is the top Croatian professional football (soccer), football league competition, established in 1992. Previously, it was called Prva Hrvatska nogometna liga (First Croatian Football League), but a league structure reorganization from 2022–23 led to name changes for the three top league levels. Overview The league was formed in 1991, following the dissolution of the Yugoslav First League, and is operated by the Croatian Football Federation. Since its formation, the league went through many changes in its system and number of participating clubs. Croatian Football Federation
The Croatian Football Federation ( hr, Hrvatski nogometni savez, HNS) is the governing body of association football in Croatia. It was originally formed in 1912 and is based in the capital city of Zagreb. The organisation is a member of both FIFA and UEFA, and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the game of football in Croatia. The current president of HNS is Marijan Kustić. The HNS sanctions all competitive football matches in Croatia, beginning with the HNL on down to 3. NL, as well as the Croatian Cup, while low-tiered leagues are sanctioned by inter-county and county associations. NK Belišće
NK Belišće is a Croatian football club based in the town of Belišće. History NK Belišće was founded in 1919 under the name BŠK (Belišćanski športski klub). The club's name was changed in 1925 to BRŠK (Belišćanski radnički športski klub). During World War II the club was named Viktorija. From 1945 until the 1960 club was called FD Proleter and from 1960 carries the current name. The club from its beginnings until today, closely related to the factory "Belišće" d.d. Nogometni klub Neretva Metković ( en, Neretva Football Club), commonly referred to as NK Neretva or simply Neretva, is a Croatian professional Association football, football club based in the town of Metković, in the region of Dubrovnik-Neretva County. Adriatic Derby
Adriatic derby ( hr, Jadranski derbi) is the name given to matches between two largest Croatian football clubs coming from the Adriatic coast, Hajduk Split and Rijeka. The teams are supported by their fanbases called Split's Torcida and Rijeka's Armada. Games of note are the 1986–87 Yugoslav Cup final, when Hajduk won the cup, and the 2004–05 Croatian Football Cup final when Rijeka won the trophy. In the penultimate round of the 1998–99 Croatian First Football League season at Stadion Poljud, Rijeka won 3–1 and the entire stadium began to applaud the Rijeka footballers, including the Hajduk fans. Eternal Derby (Croatia)
Eternal Derby ( hr, Vječni derbi) also known as the Croatian Derby ( hr, Hrvatski derbi), is the name given to matches between the two biggest and most popular Croatian football clubs Dinamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split. The rivalry can be traced back to 1920s when Zagreb's Građanski and Hajduk often clashed in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia championships. After World War II, Građanski was disbanded by the authorities, and Dinamo Zagreb was formed to take its place, retaining its colours. The two clubs soon became part of the "Big Four" of Yugoslav football (the other two being Red Star Belgrade and Partizan Belgrade from Serbia) ever since the Yugoslav championship was established in 1946 (both clubs spent their entire existence playing top-flight football). NK Marsonia is a Croatian football club based in the city of Slavonski Brod. They currently play in the third division Treća HNL. NK Marsonia was founded in 1909. From 1945 to 1962 the club was called ''NK Radnički Brod'', and then ''BSK'' from 1962 to 1992 before the club's original name was restored.
