1995–96 AJ Auxerre Season
The 1995–96 season was the 90th season in the existence of AJ Auxerre and the club's 16th consecutive season in the top-flight of French football. In addition to the domestic league, Auxerre participated in this season's editions of the Coupe de France, the Coupe de la Ligue and UEFA Cup. AJ Auxerre
Association de la Jeunesse Auxerroise (), commonly known as AJ Auxerre or simply Auxerre (), is a French football club based in the commune of Auxerre in Burgundy. The club was founded in 1905 and currently plays in Ligue 1, the first division of French football. Auxerre plays its home matches at the Stade l'Abbé-Deschamps on the banks of the Yonne River. The team is managed by Christophe Pélissier and captained by midfielder Birama Touré. Auxerre was founded in 1905 and made its debut in the first division of French football in the 1980–81 season and remained a fixture in the league until the 2011–12 season. The club has won the Ligue 1 title once, in the 1995–96 season. Two years prior, Auxerre achieved its first major honour by winning the Coupe de France in 1994. Lionel Charbonnier
Lionel André Michel Charbonnier (born 25 October 1966) is a French football manager and former professional player who played as a goalkeeper. After retiring, he became a football manager and managed Aceh United of the Liga Primer Indonesia in the season before they folded along with their independent league. Charbonnier played for the AJ Auxerre side which won the Ligue 1 title and Coupe de France in the 1995–96 season under the management of Guy Roux. After eleven seasons with Auxerre from 1987 to 1998 he joined Rangers FC in Scotland, where he won the treble of Scottish Premier League, Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup in his first season, 1998–99. They retained the League and Cup in his second season. He retired in 2002 after a season with Lausanne Sports of the Swiss Super League. Philippe Violeau
Philippe Violeau (born 19 September 1970) is a French former professional footballer who played as a defensive midfielder. He played exclusively in France, where he won both the national championship and the Coupe de France three times, as well as the Trophée des Champions twice and the Coupe de la Ligue once. He was president of amateur side La Roche VF from February 2019 until June 2020. Career Violeau was born in Niort, Deux-Sèvres. He started playing in the 1988–89 season, with his hometown club Chamois Niortais in the French second division. Sabri Lamouchi
Sabri Lamouchi (born 9 November 1971) is a French football manager and former professional player who played as a midfielder. He was the manager of Qatar Stars League club Al-Duhail. Early life Lamouchi was born in Lyon, France, and is of Tunisian descent. Club career Lamouchi started his professional career with Alès and then moved to Auxerre for four years. He then went on to join Monaco, who he helped to the Ligue 1 title in 2000, before being snapped up by Parma of Italy. He later moved to Inter Milan. Lamouchi had a spell at Genoa before joining Marseille on loan the following year. In January 2006, the loan deal was made a permanent move. Yann Lachuer
Yann Lachuer (born 5 August 1972) is a French football coach and former professional player who coaches SO Romorantin. Playing career Lachuer began his career in the 1992–93 season with US Créteil-Lusitanos in Ligue 2 the second tier of French Football, making 31 appearances and scoring five goals. His displays brought him to the attention of AJ Auxerre, for whom he signed in 1993. He was limited to just two first team appearances in the following seasons until a loan spell with LB Châteauroux in the 1996–97 season. This was a most productive spell for Lachuer, where he found the net nine times in 32 games. Bernard Diomède
Bernard Nicolas Thierry Diomède (born 23 January 1974) is a French football manager and former professional player. He was most recently the manager of the France U20s. He played as a winger and won the World Cup with France in 1998. Early life Diomède was born in Saint-Doulchard, Cher, to parents of Guadeloupean descent. Alain Goma (born 5 October 1972) is a French former footballer who played as a right back or a central defender. In a 16-year professional career he appeared in 196 Ligue 1 games, mostly for Auxerre.
