1995 Wicklow By-election
A by-election was held in the Dáil Éireann Wicklow constituency in Ireland on 29 June 1995. It followed the death of Independent Teachta Dála (TD) Johnny Fox on 17 March 1995. The election was won by Independent Wicklow County Councillor Mildred Fox, daughter of Johnny Fox. Among the candidates were Senator, Wicklow County Councillor, former and future TD and future Minister Dick Roche, Wicklow County Councillor Tom Honan, future Wicklow County Councillor Nicky Kelly, former Wicklow County Councillor and then husband of sitting TD Liz McManus, John McManus and Wicklow County Councillor Susan Philips. 1992 Irish General Election
The 1992 Irish general election was held on Wednesday, 25 November, almost three weeks after the dissolution of the Dáil on 5 November. The 27th Dáil assembled at Leinster House on 14 December 1992, but a new Taoiseach was not elected. A new Fianna Fáil–Labour Party coalition government was appointed on 12 January 1993 with Albert Reynolds appointed again as Taoiseach. The general election took place in 41 Dáil constituencies throughout Ireland for 166 seats in Dáil Éireann, under a revision in the Electoral (Amendment) Act 1990. Campaign The general election of 1992 was precipitated by the collapse of the Fianna Fáil–Progressive Democrats coalition government. Allegations of dishonesty at the Beef Tribunal forced Desmond O'Malley and his party to part ways with Albert Reynolds's Fianna Fáil. Wicklow County Council ( ga, Comhairle Chontae Chill Mhantáin) is the authority responsible for Local government in the Republic of Ireland, local government in County Wicklow, Republic of Ireland, Ireland.
