1995 Peach Bowl (December)
The 1995 Peach Bowl featured the Georgia Bulldogs and Virginia Cavaliers. Georgia fell behind to the Cavaliers, 24–6, before rallying to tie the game at 27 late in the fourth quarter. Virginia clinched the victory when Demetrius "Pete" Allen returned a kickoff 83 yards for a touchdown to secure the 34–27 win with under a minute remaining. The Bulldogs lost despite a total offense edge of 525 to 256 yards. Georgia Dome
The Georgia Dome was a domed stadium in the Southeastern United States. Located in Atlanta between downtown to the east and Vine City to the west, it was owned and operated by the State of Georgia as part of the Georgia World Congress Center Authority. Its successor, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, was built adjacent to the south and opened on August 26, 2017. The Georgia Dome was demolished on November 20, 2017. The Georgia Dome was the home stadium for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL) and the Georgia State University Panthers football team. It hosted two Super Bowls ( XXVIII and XXXIV), 25 editions of the Peach Bowl (January 1993–December 2016) and 23 SEC Championship Games (1994− 2016). 1996 Peach Bowl
The 1996 Peach Bowl featured the Clemson Tigers and LSU Tigers. LSU scored the final 10 points of the game after Clemson took an early 7–0 lead. After an LSU turnover in the first quarter, Clemson quarterback Nealon Greene ran for a five-yard touchdown. LSU subsequently went on an 80-yard drive capped by Kevin Faulk's three-yard touchdown run. Wade Richey kicked a field goal late in the second quarter for LSU. The 1995–96 NCAA football bowl games concluded the 1995 NCAA Division I-A football season. In the first year of the Bowl Alliance era, the Alliance achieved its goal of matching the two top-ranked teams in the country in the Fiesta Bowl, designated as the Bowl Alliance national championship game for the 1995 season. Top-ranked Nebraska soundly defeated second-ranked Florida 62–24 to repeat as national champions. A total of 18 bowl games were played from December 14 through January 2 by 36 bowl-eligible teams. Jason Ferguson (American Football)
Jason O. Ferguson (born November 28, 1974) is a former American football defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL) for the New York Jets, Dallas Cowboys, and Miami Dolphins. He was selected by the New York Jets in the seventh round of the 1997 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of Georgia. Early years Ferguson attended Nettleton High School in Nettleton, Mississippi. He earned varsity letters in football, as a center on the basketball team, and in track and field. The Peach Bowl is an annual college football bowl game played in Atlanta, Georgia since December 1968. Since 1997, it has been sponsored by Chick-fil-A and is officially known as the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. From 2006 to 2013, it was officially referred to as simply the Chick-fil-A Bowl. 1995 Peach Bowl (January)
The 1995 Peach Bowl, part of the 1994 bowl game season, featured the Mississippi State Bulldogs and the NC State Wolfpack. NC State held Mississippi State to just one touchdown and five field goals on six Bulldog drives that reached the Wolfpack red zone during the game. Leading 13–10, the Bulldogs went three-and-out and missed a field goal late in the second quarter. The Wolfpack got the ball back and tied the game at 13 going into halftime. After MSU picked up a safety and two field goals early in the third quarter, NC State tied the game at 21 on a touchdown pass from Terry Harvey to Dallas Dickerson and a two-point run by Harvey.
