The 1995 New Mexico Lobos football team was an American football team that represented the University of New Mexico in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) during the 1995 NCAA Division I-A football season. In their fourth season under head coach Dennis Franchione, the Lobos compiled a 4–7 record (2–6 against WAC opponents) and were outscored by a total of 303 to 256. The team's statistical leaders included Donald Sellers with 1,693 passing yards, Winslow Oliver with 915 rushing yards, Steve Pagador with 492 receiving yards, and kicker Colby Cason with 58 points scored. Dennis Franchione
Dennis Wayne Franchione (born March 28, 1951), also known as Coach Fran, is a retired American football coach. He is the former head football coach at Texas State University, a position he held from 1990 to 1991, when the school was known as Southwest Texas State University, and resumed from 2011 to 2015. Franchione has also served as the head football coach at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas (1981–1982), Pittsburg State University (1985–1989), the University of New Mexico (1992–1997), Texas Christian University (1998–2000), the University of Alabama (2001–2002), and Texas A&M University (2003–2007). In his 27 seasons as a head coach in college football, Franchione won eight conference championships and one divisional crown. Personal life Franchione was born in Girard, Kansas. The 1995 Texas Tech Red Raiders football team represented Texas Tech University as a member of the Southwest Conference (SWC) during the 1995 NCAA Division I-A football season. Led by ninth-year head coach Spike Dykes, the Red Raiders compiled an overall record of 9–3 with a mark of 5–2 in conference play, placing in a three-way tie for second in the SWC.
