1994–95 Liga EBA Season
The 1994–95 Liga EBA season was the first one of Liga EBA, this competition, created to be the new second tier of Basketball in Spain, Spanish basketball. Regular season Group North Group East Group Centre Group South Relegation playoffs The six last qualified teams in each group played the relegation playoffs. All groups played independently 9th vs 14th, 10th vs 13th and 11th vs 12th. The losers of a best-of-five serie were relegated to Segunda División. Liga Española de Baloncesto Aficionado (EBA), commonly known as Liga EBA, is a Spanish basketball championship that is the fourth tier level in the Spanish basketball league system, after the Liga ACB The Liga ACB, known as Liga Endesa for sponsorship reasons, is the top professional basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system. Administrated by the Asociación de Clubs de Baloncesto (ACB), Liga ACB is contested by 18 teams, ..., LEB Oro, and LEB Plata. It is administered by the FEB. It was previously the Spanish second tier level competition from 1994 to 1996, the third tier level from 1996 to 2000, and the fifth tier level, from 2007 to 2009. The Liga EBA is made up of five inter-regional groups. After the regular season, sixteen teams advance to the playoffs, where only four teams are promoted to the LEB Plata. Club Baloncesto Ambroz Plasencia, more commonly referred to today by its sponsorship name of Plasencia Extremadura, is a Basketball team based in Plasencia, Extremadura. History Plasencia Ambroz was founded in 1978 as a merge of the clubs Centro Juventud and La Salle. The most important milestone of the club was in 1995, when the club reached the Final Stage of the Liga EBA, and played the promotion playoffs to the top tier, the Liga ACB. In 2003, Plasencia Ambroz promoted to LEB league, second division, after an expansion of this league to 18 teams. Club Bàsquet Sant Josep was a professional basketball team based in Girona, Catalonia, Spain. History The club was founded in 1962 by Ramon Sitjà as CB Sant Josep. In 1989 it became the Anonymous Sport Association (SAD). In 1987, when the ACB was enlarged to 24 teams, CB Girona entered the first division. In 1991, the club had to buy the rights of the Granollers EB to stay in the ACB as they were going to be relegated to the second division. Real Betis Baloncesto S.A.D., simply known as Real Betis, is a professional basketball team based in Seville, Spain. The team plays in the Liga ACB. It plays its home games at San Pablo.
