1994 Supercupa României
The 1994 Supercupa României was the first edition of Romania's season opener cup competition. The match was played in Bucharest at Stadionul Național on 20 August 1994, and was contested between Divizia A title holders, Steaua București and Cupa României champions, Gloria Bistrița. Steaua București became the first winner of the trophy after a goal scored by Marian Popa in extra time. Supercupa României
The Supercupa României () is a Romanian football (soccer), football championship contested by the winners of the Liga I and the Cupa României. It is usually played at the Arena Națională in Bucharest. The competition started off in 1994 Supercupa României, 1994, with the first edition being won by FCSB, Steaua București. In 2010 Supercupa României, 2010, for the first time in its history, the Supercup was held even though CFR Cluj had been victorious in both the league and the cup in the previous season. At that time, they faced FC Unirea Urziceni, Unirea Urziceni, the Liga I runners-up. The most successful performer so far is FC FCSB, FCSB winning the competition 7 times. Constantin Gâlcă
Constantin "Costel" Gâlcă (born 8 March 1972) is a Romanian professional football manager and former player, who is currently in charge of Liga I club Rapid București. Equally at ease as a defensive or central midfielder and possessing an accurate long-range shot, he first made a name for himself at Steaua București. He then spent a full decade in Spain, playing in 318 matches in both major levels combined and representing five clubs, most notably Espanyol. Additionally, Gâlcă appeared for Romania in two World Cups and as many European Championships, winning 68 caps. As a manager, he led teams including both Steaua and Espanyol. Mihai Tararache (born 25 October 1977) is a retired Romanian footballer who last played as a midfielder for Gloria Bistriţa, Dinamo București, Grasshoppers, FC Zürich, and MSV Duisburg. Simion Mironaș
Simion Mironaș (19 November 1965 – 7 May 2022) was a Romanian professional footballer who played as a defender. Career In the 8th round of the 1994–95 Divizia A season Simion played on 13 October 1994 for Gloria Bistrița against Rapid București and on 15 October for Dinamo București against Universitatea Cluj, thus becoming the only Romanian that played for two teams in the same round. Conviction On 28 February 1998, Mironaș was involved in a road accident while driving his car in Susenii Bârgăului, Bistrița-Năsăud County and hit two teenagers, one of them who was 15 years old died. He was driving without a license after a few days earlier he hit a pregnant woman on the crosswalk. Mironaș received a one-year suspended sentence. Valer Săsărman
Valer Săsărman (25 August 1969 – 29 August 2021) was a Romanian professional footballer who played as a defender. Săsărman started his career at Laminorul Beclean, but played for the rest of it for Gloria Bistrița, appearing in 329 Divizia A matches and scoring seven goals. After retirement Săsărman started his football manager career, returning to the same teams for which he played. He died on 29 August 2021, after suffering a stroke at his home from Măluț, Bistrița-Năsăud County. Costel Câmpeanu (born 14 May 1965 in Bacău) is a former Romanian football player and coach. Playing career Costel Câmpeanu was born on 14 May 1965 in Bacău and started to play football in the 1986–87 Divizia C season at Viitorul Gheorgheni. Afterwards he went to play for the team from his native town, SC Bacău where on 26 August 1987 he made his Divizia A debut in a 4–2 away loss in front of Argeș Pitești. After two years he went to play for Dinamo București where in his first season he helped the club win The Double, being used by coach Mircea Lucescu in 10 league games, as the team's first option for the goalkeeper position was Bogdan Stelea. Dumitru Dumitriu (born 19 November 1945 in Bucharest), commonly known as Țiți Dumitru or Dumitriu III, is a retired Romanian footballer and coach. He is the younger brother of Emil Dumitriu ''(Dumitriu II)'' who was an International footballer and champion of Romania with Rapid București and the elder brother of Constantin Dumitriu ''(Dumitriu IV)'' who won the Romanian championship with Steaua București. Laurențiu Dumitru Roșu (born 26 October 1975) is a Romanian football manager and former player. After four seasons at Steaua București, he spent nine years as a professional in Spain – eight in the two major divisions, where he amassed totals of 222 games and 45 goals – representing three clubs, mostly Numancia and Recreativo. Bucurel Adrian Ilie (born 20 April 1974) is a Romanian former professional footballer who played as a forward. Nicknamed ''The Cobra'', he is best known for his spell with Valencia in Spain.
