1994 San Diego Chargers
The 1994 San Diego Chargers season was the team's 35th, its 25th in the National Football League (NFL), and its 34th in San Diego. It would be the first season the franchise would have involving long snapper David Binn. He would play 17 seasons as a San Diego Charger, a franchise record. The 1994 season began with the team trying to improve on their 8–8 record in 1993. The offense had undergone a major overhaul, with the club leaders in rushing and receiving yards (Marion Butts and Anthony Miller) both having been traded during the offseason. 2nd year running back Natrone Means took over the lead rusher role, setting a club record with 1,350 yards during the regular season. San Diego Chargers
The San Diego Chargers were a professional American football team that played in San Diego from 1961 until the end of the 2016 season, before relocating to Los Angeles, where the franchise had played its inaugural 1960 season. American Football Conference
The American Football Conference (AFC) is one of the two conferences of the National Football League (NFL), the highest professional level of American football in the United States. The AFC and its counterpart, the National Football Conference (NFC), each contain 16 teams with 4 divisions. Both conferences were created as part of the 1970 merger between the National Football League, and the American Football League (AFL). All ten of the AFL teams, and three NFL teams, became members of the new AFC, with the remaining thirteen NFL teams forming the NFC. Stanley Richard
Stanley Palmer Richard (born October 21, 1967 in Mineola, Texas) also known as the "Sheriff," is a retired American football safety in the National Football League. Richard played football at Hawkins High School in Hawkins, Texas, where he was selected as an all-state player. Richard played at the University of Texas from 1987–90, where he was an All-American safety in 1990. He was drafted 9th overall by the San Diego Chargers in the 1991 NFL Draft and played with the Chargers from 1991-94. He was signed by the Washington Redskins as an unrestricted free agent on March 10, 1995 and played with the Redskins from 1995-98. He retired following the 1998 season. Mark Seay
Mark Edward Seay (born April 11, 1967) is a former professional American football wide receiver in the National Football League for the San Francisco 49ers, San Diego Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles. He played college football at Long Beach State University. Seay has the distinction of being the first NFL player to score a two-point conversion in Super Bowl history. Early years Seay played wide receiver in football and center fielder in baseball at Compton High School, but transferred in 1981 to San Bernardino High School after his family decided to move. He would end up breaking many of the school's football offensive records, while helping lead the team to the playoff quarterfinals in his senior season. Vanchi LaShawn "Shawn" Jefferson Sr. (born February 22, 1969) is an American football coach and former wide receiver who is the associate head coach & wide receivers coach for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). Tony Derrick Martin (born September 5, 1965), is an American former professional football player who was selected by the New York Jets in the 5th round of the 1989 NFL Draft. He earned second-team All-Pro honors with the San Diego Chargers in 1996. Career Tony Martin was a 6'1" wide receiver out of Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colorado. The New York Jets grabbed him with their fifth round pick of the 1989 NFL Draft. Martin, however, did not make the opening day roster in New York, and was placed on waivers. The Dolphins picked him up as a free agent prior to the 1990 NFL season. Martin appeared in all 16 games that season for the Dolphins, starting five. He caught 29 passes for 388 yards and two touchdowns. He also returned 26 punts for Miami, for 140 yards. Lawrence Anthony Miller (born April 15, 1965) is a former professional American football wide receiver in the National Football League for the San Diego Chargers, Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at the University of Tennessee. Early years Miller attended John Muir High School in Pasadena, California, where he was a track standout, winning the 400 metres at the CIF Southern Section meet in 1983. He also competed in the long jump, 100 metres (10.3 seconds), 200 metres (20.6 seconds) and relay events. He joined a football team for the first time in his life as a senior, at the urging of head coach Jim Brownfield.
