1994 Giro D'Italia
The 1994 Giro d'Italia was the 77th edition of Giro d'Italia, the race. The Giro started off in Bologna on 22 May with a short stage. The race came to a close on 12 June with a flat stage that stretched from Turin to Milan. Seventeen teams entered the race, which was won by Evgeni Berzin of the team. Second and third respectively were the Italian Marco Pantani and the Spanish rider, Miguel Indurain. Berzin first gained the race lead after the fourth stage where he attacked on the final climb to win the day. The race's overall classification was first headed by Endrio Leoni who won the Giro's opening road stage. However, Leoni lost the lead later that day during the afternoon individual time trial to Armand de Las Cuevas. Evgeni Berzin
Evgeni Valentinovich Berzin (; born 3 June 1970 in Vyborg, Russia) is a Russian former road cyclist. Coming from track cycling, where he successfully represented the Soviet Union at World Championships, he moved to Italy in 1992 and turned professional with in 1993. His second season in 1994 was to be his best, with victories at the Giro d'Italia and Liège–Bastogne–Liège. He finished second at the 1995 Giro d'Italia, but failed to live up to high expectations in the years after. A brief spell in the race leader's yellow jersey and a stage win at the 1996 Tour de France were his last big results. In 1997, he unsuccessfully attempted to break Chris Boardman's hour record. Bruno Leali
Bruno Leali (born 6 March 1958 in Roe Volciano) is an Italian former professional racing cyclist. He rode in 14 editions of the Giro d'Italia, six editions of the Tour de France and four editions of the Vuelta a España. After retiring from cycling, Leali became the sports director for various teams, including an amateur cycling team he founded. In 2010 Leali was found to possess illicit drugs during the Girobio. The team, Lucchini-Unidelta, was therefore removed from the race. In 2011, the Italian Olympic Committee banned Leali from sport for life in May 2011 and sentenced him to a 20,000 euro fine. In September 2015, he was also included on the World Anti-Doping Agency's list of sporting staff who have been banned for life. Campitello Matese is an Italian civil parish (''frazione'') and ski resort, part of the municipality of San Massimo in the province of Campobasso, Molise region. History Still 1960s Campitello had only a building used as shelter for shepherds. In the 1970s it started the realization of the first plants to transform it in a ski resort. Adriano Baffi (born 7 August 1962) is a former Italian bicycle road racer. After his career as a rider, he became a team director. He is the son of Italian bicycle racer Pierino Baffi. Maurizio Fondriest (born 15 January 1965) is a retired Italy, Italian professional road racing cyclist. Career Born in Cles, Trentino, Fondriest turned professional in 1987 with the Ecoflam team. Pavel Sergeyevich Tonkov (russian: Павел Сергеевич Тонков; born 9 February 1969 in Izhevsk) is a former professional road racing cyclist from Russia. His talents were first showcased when winning the world junior title as part of the Soviet Union team in 1987.
