Slovenian PrvaLiga
The Slovenian PrvaLiga ( sl, Prva slovenska nogometna liga, ), currently named Prva liga Telemach due to sponsorship reasons, also known by the abbreviation 1. SNL, is the top level of the Football in Slovenia, Slovenian football league system. Contested by ten clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Slovenian Second League (2. SNL). Seasons typically run from July to May with each team playing 36 matches. The competition was founded in 1991 after Slovenia became an independent country. From 1920 until the end of the 1990–91 season, the Slovenian Republic League was a lower division within the Yugoslav league system. The league is governed by the Football Association of Slovenia. NK Celje, Celje and NK Maribor, Maribor are the only two founding clubs that have never been relegated from the league since its foundation in 1991. NK Rudar Velenje
Nogometni klub Rudar Velenje ( en, Rudar Velenje Football Club), commonly referred to as NK Rudar Velenje or simply Rudar Velenje, is a Slovenian football club from Velenje which competes in the Slovenian Second League. History The club was founded in August 1948. At first they played in local MNZ Celje league, until they qualified for the Slovenian Republic League in 1953. Two years later, on 3 July 1955, Rudar's home stadium Ob Jezeru was opened and the club moved to its current home. After the short crisis the club returned to the Slovenian league in 1962. For the 1974–75 season the club hired a professional coach Živko Stakič and became Slovenian champions in 1977. Rudar therefore qualified for the Yugoslav Second League, where they played until 1982. Primož Gliha (born 8 October 1967) is a Slovenian professional football coach and former player who last managed Kosovo national team as caretaker. International career On 3 June 1992, Gliha made his debut with Slovenia in a friendly match against Estonia after being named in the starting line-up. Ermin Šiljak (born 11 May 1973) is a Slovenian former professional footballer who played as a centre forward. Managerial career Early career Šiljak managed Slovenian under-16 and under-19 national teams. In 2012, he was a manager of Olimpija Ljubljana. Eternal Derby Of Slovenian Football (1962–2004)
The Eternal derby of Slovenian football, simply known as the Eternal derby ( sl, Večni derbi) or Slovenian derby ( sl, Slovenski derbi) was a football rivalry between NK Maribor and NK Olimpija, which was dissolved in 2005. In 2005, a new club under the name of NK Bežigrad was founded and later changed its name to NK Olimpija Ljubljana. Because most of the fans that supported the dissolved Olimpija started to support Bežigrad, the continuation of the rivalry is considered by most Slovenian media and fans as the matches between Maribor and the new Olimpija Ljubljana, established in 2005 as NK Bežigrad.
