The 1993 St. Louis mayoral election was held on April 6, 1993 to elect the mayor of St. Louis, Missouri. It saw the election of Freeman Bosley Jr., the first African-American Mayor of St. Louis. The election was preceded by party primaries on March 2. Bill Haas
William Harlan Haas (born May 24, 1982) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour and won the 2011 FedEx Cup. He is the son of former PGA Tour player Jay Haas. Early life Haas was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, and was raised in Greer, South Carolina, a suburb of Greenville. He was the third member of his family to play golf at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, following his father, Jay, and uncle, Jerry. College career Haas had a distinguished college career - he was a three-time first-team All-American, four-time All-ACC, two-time ACC player-of-the-year, and 2001 ACC rookie-of-the-year. Tom Villa
Thomas Albert Villa (March 16, 1945 – January 20, 2023) was an American Democratic politician from Missouri. He was a member of the Missouri House of Representatives and later represented Ward 11, the Carondelet neighborhood and surrounding areas, on the Board of Aldermen of the City of St. Louis. Villa was born and raised in St. Louis and is the son of the late Albert "Red" Villa. The elder Villa was the longest-serving member of the St. Louis Board of Aldermen. He was educated at St. Mary's High School and Saint Louis University and received a master's degree in education from the University of Missouri–St. Louis in 1971. Before starting his political career, Villa worked as a teacher and guidance counselor. Villa was first elected to the Missouri House of Representatives in 1974. Tony Ribaudo
Anthony D. Ribaudo (November 21, 1941 – March 23, 2020) was an American politician from Missouri, of the Democratic Party. Ribaudo was born and raised in St. Louis and attended Washington University. In 1993, Ribaudo was an unsuccessful candidate for mayor of St. Louis. He finished third in the Democratic primary election behind Freeman Bosley Jr. and Tom Villa. After narrowly winning his re-election campaign in 1994, Ribaudo did not seek re-election in 1996. In 1976, he was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives representing the Hill neighborhood. Ribaudo was re-elected nine times and served part of the time as house majority leader. In 1989 he challenged Bob F. Griffin for Speaker of the House.
