Ottawa Senators
The Ottawa Senators (french: Sénateurs d'Ottawa), officially the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club and colloquially known as the Sens, are a professional ice hockey team based in Ottawa. They compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference, and play their home games at the 18,652-seat Canadian Tire Centre, which opened in 1996 as the Palladium. Western Collegiate Hockey Association
The Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) is a college athletic conference which operates in the Midwestern United States. It participates in the NCAA's Division I as a women's ice hockey-only conference. From 1951 to 1999, it operated as a men-only league, adding women's competition in the 1999–2000 season. It operated men's and women's leagues through the 2020–21 season; during this period, the men's WCHA expanded to include teams far removed from its traditional Midwestern base, with members in Alabama, Alaska, and Colorado at different times. The men's side of the league officially disbanded after seven members left to form the revived Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA); the WCHA remains in operation as a women-only league. Jacques Joubert
Jacques Joubert (born March 23, 1971) is an American former professional ice hockey center who was an All-American for Boston University. Career Joubert's college career began at Princeton University in 1990. The year turned out poorly for him as he scored just 2 goals in 13 games and left the program in the middle of the year and return to juniors. After sitting out the following year, per NCAA transfer rules, Joubert made his debut for Boston University and was far more productive, notching 35 points and making himself enough of a commodity for the Dallas Stars to select him in the NHL Supplemental Draft. Joubert continued his upward trend as a junior, finishing second on the Terriers in scoring and earned a spot on the second All-American team. The Lake Superior State Lakers men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents Lake Superior State University. Hartford Whalers
The Hartford Whalers were a professional ice hockey team based for most of its existence in Hartford, Connecticut. The club played in the World Hockey Association (WHA) from 1972 until 1979, and in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1979 to 1997. Kent Fearns
Kent Fearns (born September 13, 1972) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenseman who was an All-American for Colorado College Career Fearns joined the ice hockey program at Colorado College in 1991 after helping the Chilliwack Chiefs win a regular season title. He was nearly a point per game player for the Tigers and named to the WCHA all-Rookie team. Fearns helped CC post its first non-losing season since 1980 and its first postseason game in five years. The team's success couldn't be sustained, however, and the Tigers finished last in the conference in 1993. Don Lucia was brought in as head coach for Fearns' junior season and the change in leadership brought about an incredible turnaround. ECAC Hockey League
ECAC Hockey is one of the six conferences that compete in NCAA Division I ice hockey. The conference used to be affiliated with the Eastern College Athletic Conference, a consortium of over 300 colleges in the eastern United States. This relationship ended in 2004; however, the ECAC abbreviation was retained in the name of the hockey conference. ECAC Hockey is the only ice hockey conference with identical memberships in both its women's and men's divisions.
