1992 Ukrainian First League
1992 Ukrainian First League was the first Ukrainian First League season with the record number of teams participating in the league at 28 divided into groups. The season started on March 14 and finished July 5, 1992. At the end of the season the five worst teams from each of the two groups were relegated to the Ukrainian Second League (the third tier). The winners of each group qualified for the top league for the next season. Somewhat surprising was the performance of such teams as Pryladyst Mukacheve and Artania Ochakiv that were just a few points short of qualifying for the Ukrainian Premier League. Teams In the 1992 season, the Ukrainian First League consisted mostly of clubs that had competed in the Soviet Second League (Ukrainian Zone). Ukrainian First League
The Persha Liha ( uk, Перша ліга) or Ukrainian First League is a professional football league in Ukraine and the second tier of national football competitions pyramid. Members of the league also participate in the Ukrainian Cup. It is the highest division of Professional Football League. History The league was set up by the newly reorganized Football Federation of Ukraine (a successor of the Football Federation of the Ukrainian SSR) with the falling apart Soviet Union as a second tier, lower than Ukrainian Higher League (Vyshcha Liha) and higher that Ukrainian Transitional League (Perekhidna Liha). The very first round of games that took place for this league was on 14 March 1992. FC CSKA Kyiv
FC CSKA Kyiv ( uk, "ЦСКА Київ") is a Ukrainian amateur football club, until 2001 of the Central Sports Club of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is government sponsored by the Ministry of Defense. As its farm team CSKA-2 Kyiv, in 1994–2001 it served as a farm team of CSKA Kyiv which later was renamed into Arsenal Kyiv. After reorganization in 2001 the football section "FC CSKA Kyiv" was privately sponsored until 2009 when it withdrew from the professional league 4 September 2009 due to lack of financial support. Football Club Mariupol ( uk, Футбольний клуб "Маріуполь" ) was a Ukrainian professional football club based in Mariupol, that competed in the Ukrainian Premier League. The club ceased to exist as a result of the Siege of Mariupol, during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. From 2002 to 2017, the club was named Illichivets Mariupol under which it participated in European competitions. It was renamed as part of decommunization in Ukraine. Krystal Kherson is a professional football club from Kherson in Ukraine that has a long history in the Soviet and then the Ukrainian Leagues. FC Khimik Sievierodonetsk was a professional Ukrainian football club. The club was based in Sievierodonetsk, Ukraine. Brief history In Soviet times the club participated on the professional level from 1963 when the Ukrainian zone of the Soviet Second League was organized and until 1970 during another reorganization of the Soviet football structure. Then, in 1991 it reentered the professional competition once again right before the dissolution of Soviet Union. FC Skala 1911 Stryi was a Ukrainian football team. The team is based in Stryi, Ukraine. History Over the years there were several clubs connected with Skala Stryi starting from 1911.
