1992 Brisbane Broncos Season
The 1992 Brisbane Broncos season was the fifth in the club's history and they competed in the NSWRL's 1992 Winfield Cup premiership. Under new captain Allan Langer they finished the regular season 1st to claim their first minor premiership before going on to play in their first grand final and win, transporting the Winfield Cup trophy north of the New South Wales border for the first time. The Broncos then also became the first Australian club to win the World Club Challenge. 1991 Brisbane Broncos Season
The 1991 Brisbane Broncos season was the fourth in the club's history. They competed in the NSWRL's 1991 Winfield Cup premiership and failed to reach the finals, finishing 7th (out of 16). Three Broncos players, Paul Hauff, Willie Carne and Andrew Gee were selected to make their international debuts for Australia in 1991. Season summary In the 1991 NSWRL season the Broncos again won the Panasonic Cup competition. In round 16 they were kept scoreless by the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles, the first team ever to do so. Steve Renouf became the first Bronco to score four tries in a match in round 20. However they didn't perform consistently enough during the season, only gaining momentum in August, when they won their last five matches straight. Rugby League World Sevens
The Rugby League World Sevens, usually referred to as the World Sevens and sometimes as the World Cup Sevens, was a pre-season rugby league sevens tournament made up over the years primarily of New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL), Australian Rugby League (ARL) and mostly recently National Rugby League (NRL) teams, along with teams representing NSW Country and nations including Tonga, France, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Russia, Fiji, the USA and England. When the National Rugby League was formed in Australasia in 1998 the World Sevens competition was dropped, but it returned in 2003 when Parramatta successfully defended their title from the last time in 1997. The Illawarra Steelers are an Australian rugby league football club based in the city of Wollongong, New South Wales. The club competed in Australia's top-level rugby league competition from 1982 until 1998. Brookvale Oval (also known by the commercial sponsorship name 4 Pines Park) is a sporting ground located within Brookvale Park at Brookvale, New South Wales, Australia. The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles are an Australian professional rugby league club based in Sydney's Northern Beaches.
