1992 All-Big Ten Conference Football Team
The 1992 All-Big Ten Conference football team consists of American football players chosen as All-Big Ten Conference players for the 1992 NCAA Division I-A football season. The organizations selecting All-Big Ten teams in 1992 included the Associated Press (AP). Only two players, Michigan running back Tyrone Wheatley and Purdue defensive tackle Jeff Zgonina were unanimously selected by the AP's media panel. They were also named the Big Ten's Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, respectively. Wheatley led the conference with 1,357 rushing yards, 7.3 rushing yards per attempt, 1,502 yards from scrimmage and 16 touchdowns from scrimmage. Simeon Rice of the Illinois Fighting Illini was selected as the Big Ten Freshman of the Year. Elvis Grbac
Elvis M. Grbac (born August 13, 1970) is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for nine seasons, most notably with the Kansas City Chiefs. He played college football at Michigan, where he won the Sammy Baugh Trophy, and was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the eighth round in the 1993 NFL Draft. Grbac spent his first four seasons as a backup with the 49ers before playing his next four seasons as the Chiefs' starter. On the Chiefs, Grbac would help lead the team to two playoff berths and one division title, along with earning Pro Bowl honors in 2000. However, his tenure would also be known for a quarterback controversy with Rich Gannon during the 1997 season. Carlos James (American Football)
Carlos "The Assassin" James (born February 5, 1972) is a former American football player who played ten seasons in the Arena Football League (AFL) with the Iowa Barnstormers, Buffalo Destroyers, New York Dragons and Tampa Bay Storm. He played college football at the University of Iowa and attended Rich East High School in Park Forest, Illinois. Early years James played high school football at Rich East High School. Roger Michael Harper is a former professional American football safety in the National Football League (NFL) for the Atlanta Falcons and Dallas Cowboys. Steven Eric Tovar (born April 25, 1970) is a former college and professional American football linebacker and a former football coach at the University of Kansas. College career Tovar played for the Ohio State University Buckeyes from 1989 to 1992. Tovar was the first of 21 players recruited by Ohio State head coach John Cooper to earn All-America status at Ohio State. Gary Oscar Moeller (; January 26, 1941 – July 11, 2022) was an American football coach best known for being head coach at the University of Michigan from 1990 to 1994. During his five seasons at Michigan, he won 44 games, lost 13 and tied 3 for a winning percentage of .758. In Big Ten Conference play, his teams won 30 games, lost 8, and tied 2 for a winning percentage of .775, and won or shared conference titles in 1990, 1991 and 1992.
