1991 U.S. Figure Skating Championships
The 1991 U.S. Figure Skating Championships took place at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Medals were awarded in four colors: gold (first), silver (second), bronze (third), and pewter (fourth) in six disciplines – men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, ice dancing, men's figures and ladies's figures – across three levels: senior, junior, and novice. The event determined the U.S. teams for the 1991 World Championships. Minneapolis
Minneapolis () is the largest city in Minnesota, United States, and the county seat of Hennepin County. Paul Wylie
Paul Stanton Wylie (born October 28, 1964) is an American figure skater, and the 1992 Olympic silver medalist in men's singles skating. Personal life Paul Stanton Wylie was born on October 24, 1964 in Dallas, Texas to Bob Wylie (a geophysicist) and B.L. Wylie (a realtor) — the youngest of three children. In Dallas, he attended St. Mark's School of Texas. When he was eleven, his family moved to Denver, Colorado, where he focused increasingly on skating and graduated from Colorado Academy. Wylie attended Harvard University and graduated in 1991 with a degree in government. After competing in the 1992 Winter Olympics, as he planned, he retired from amateur competition and began his professional skating career. He was the 1985 Grand Prix International St. Gervais champion, 1985 Nebelhorn Trophy silver medalist, 1986 Novarat Trophy silver medalist, and 1985 U.S. national junior champion. Life and career Mattis was born on April 26, 1966, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He won the junior men's title at the 1985 U.S. Championships. From 1986 to 1991, Mattis competed in the senior men's division at the U.S. Championships. Val Joe "Rudy" Galindo (born September 7, 1969) is an American former competitive figure skater who competed in both single skating and pair skating. As a single skater, he is the 1996 U.S. national champion, 1987 World Junior Champion, and 1996 World Bronze medalist. As a pairs skater, he competed with Kristi Yamaguchi and was the 1988 World Junior Champion and the 1989 and 1990 U.S. National Champion. He is the first openly gay skating champion in the United States, though US, World and Olympic champion Brian Boitano came out long after his career was over. Career Galindo began skating with his sister. Although the sport was expensive, his parents were supportive and forwent a chance to buy a house, settling instead for a larger trailer. Scott Davis (born January 29, 1972) is an American former competitive figure skater. He is a two-time (1993–94) U.S. national champion and represented the United States at the 1994 Winter Olympics, where he placed 8th. Career Davis began his career when he won the U.S. junior national title during the 1989–90 season and began competing on the senior level nationally the following season. In the 1992–93 season, Davis won silver at 1992 Skate America and 1992 Skate Canada International. He went on to win his first senior national title at the 1993 U.S. Championships and was assigned to his first senior World Championships where he placed sixth. Shepherd Walton Clark (born March 1, 1971) is a famous American competitive figure skater and the reigning World Figure Champion of The World Figure Sport Society. In 2022, he defended his World Figure Championship title, becoming The 2022 World Figure & Fancy Skating Champion, as well as the overall World Figure & Fancy Skating Champion.
