Team Ice Racing World Championship
The FIM Ice Speedway of Nations, formerly known as the Ice Speedway Team World Championship, is an international ice speedway competition, first held in Kalinin (Tver), USSR, in 1979. Since its establishment, the tournament has been noted by a continued Russian dominance: the Soviet Union, Commonwealth of Independent States and Russia have won all but three tournaments. The only non-Russian teams to have won were West Germany in 1983, and Sweden - in 1985, 1995 and 2002. Inzell
Inzell is a municipality in the district of Traunstein in Bavaria, Germany. It is known for the Eisstadion Inzell, an outdoor artificial ice rink that has been used for many international speed skating championships. It is now an indoor oval. Geography Inzell lies in a wide valley floor in the Chiemgau Alps, framed by the mountains of Rauschberg, Zinnkopf, Teisenberg and the massif of Staufen. In the municipality, the confluence of the Großwaldbach and Falkenseebach rivers forms the Rote Traun river. Yuri Leonidovich Ivanov (born 2 July 1959) is a former international speedway rider from the Soviet Union. Speedway career Kazakov is a three times world champion after winning the gold medal at the Individual Ice Speedway World Championship in the 1986 Individual Ice Speedway World Championship, 1987 Individual Ice Speedway World Championship and 1992 Individual Ice Speedway World Championship. Per-Olof Serenius
Per-Olof "Posa" Serenius (born 9 March 1948) in Hedemora, Sweden, is a Swedish former ice speedway rider. He is notable for winning two World Individual Championship gold medals in ice speedway. Biography Serenius was a fireman by profession. Already an experienced motorcyclist, he began to compete in ice speedway racing in 1976 after witnessing a World Championship ice speedway competition in Berlin. His career racing record includes two World Individual Championship gold medals, three World Team gold medals, 32 World finals, 22 national championships and eight Nordic Championships. He participated in the documentary film ''Icy Riders'' from 2008. In 2016, Serenius was named an FIM Legend for his motorcycle racing achievements. The 1991 Speedway World Team Cup was the 32nd edition of the FIM Speedway World Team Cup to determine the team world champions. The final was staged at Vojens Speedway Center, Denmark and the host nation Denmark won a ninth title, once again drawing level with England's record. The 1991 Individual Speedway World Championship was the 46th edition of the official World Championship to determine the world champion rider. Diminutive Danish people, Danish rider Jan O. Pedersen won his first and only World Championship with a 15-point maximum from his five rides, the last time a rider would have a perfect score in the Final. Local favourite Tony Rickardsson finished second with 12 points, with triple champion Hans Nielsen (speedway rider), Hans Nielsen of Denmark finishing third on 11 points after defeating fellow Dane Tommy Knudsen in a run-off.
