1991 IAAF World Race Walking Cup
The 1991 IAAF World Race Walking Cup was held on 1 and 2 June 1991 in the streets of San Jose, California, USA. The event was also known as ''IAAF Race Walking World Cup''. The course followed a loop along Park Avenue and Almaden Boulevard, north and east of the intersection. Complete results were published. IAAF
World Athletics, formerly known as the International Amateur Athletic Federation (from 1912 to 2001) and International Association of Athletics Federations (from 2001 to 2019, both abbreviated as the IAAF) is the international governing body for the sport of athletics, covering track and field, cross country running, road running, race walking, mountain running, and ultra running. Giovanni De Benedictis
Giovanni De Benedictis (born 8 January 1968, in Pescara) is a retired Italian race walker, that won 9 medals at individual level, 7 of these at senior level, at the International athletics competitions. He participated at five editions of the Summer Olympics (from 1988 to 2004), this like only two others Italian athletes in track and field: the other racewalker champion Abdon Pamich and the sprinter Pietro Mennea. Héctor José Moreno Moreno (born June 8, 1963 in Ventaquemada, Boyacá) is a retired Colombian racewalker. He went to four Olympic Games and five World Championships in Athletics. He is one of the most successful Colombian athletes of the past fifty years because only one other Colombian also has a Pan American Games title. Another highlight is the permanence of his personal best of 3:52:16 hours (set in 1997) as the national record for more than twelve years. Sándor Urbanik (born 15 December 1964 in Esztergom) is a retired male race walker from Hungary. He competed in four consecutive Summer Olympics for his native country, starting in 1988. He is married to fellow Hungarian race walker Mária Urbanik. He was a bronze medallist in the 5000 m walk at the 1988 European Athletics Indoor Championships, held in his native Hungary. He represented Hungary at seven consecutive editions of the World Athletics Championships, from 1987 to 2001, with his best finish being tenth place at the 1993 World Championships in Athletics. Miguel Ángel Prieto Adanero (born 20 September 1964) is a race walker from Spain, who represented his native country at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain, where he came tenth overall. He was a four-time Spanish indoor champion in the 5000 m walk and won the outdoor 20 km national title in 1990. Prieto was born in Segovia, and made his international debut at the 1983 European Athletics Junior Championships, placing fifth in the 10,000 m walk.
