1991 England Challenge Cup
The 1991 England Challenge Cup was a friendly association football tournament played over the course of a week in May 1991 in England. Wembley Stadium in London and Old Trafford in Manchester were the two venues used. The three way tournament contained the national teams of England, Argentina, and the USSR. England were the tournament winners. David Platt (footballer)
David Andrew Platt (born 10 June 1966) is an English former professional Association football, football coach and player, who played as a midfielder. Born in Chadderton, Lancashire, Platt began his career as an apprentice at Manchester United F.C., Manchester United before moving to Crewe Alexandra F.C., Crewe Alexandra, where he began building a reputation as a goal-scoring midfielder. At the age of 22, he signed for Aston Villa F.C., Aston Villa and gained the attention of the England national football team, England manager Bobby Robson, with whom he soon made his debut. John Barnes (footballer)
John Charles Bryan Barnes MBE (born 7 November 1963) is a former professional football player and manager. He currently works as an author, commentator and pundit for ESPN and SuperSport. Initially a quick, skilful left winger, he moved to central midfield later in his career. Barnes won two league titles with Liverpool, with whom he also won two cup finals at Wembley. He was also an FA Cup runner-up with Watford, Liverpool and Newcastle United. Barnes earned 79 international caps for England. Barnes was born and initially raised in Jamaica as the son of a military officer from Trinidad and Tobago and a Jamaican mother. He moved to London, England with his family when he was 12 years old. Geoffrey Robert Thomas (born 5 August 1964) is an English former Association football, footballer, who won nine caps for the full England team and captained Crystal Palace F.C., Crystal Palace to the FA Cup final in 1990. Dennis Frank Wise (born 16 December 1966) is an English former professional football player and manager who played as a central midfielder. He is the president of Serie B side Como 1907. He is best known for having spent the majority of his career at Chelsea, from 1990 to 2001. Beginning his career at Wimbledon, Wise came to prominence as a member of the " Crazy Gang", and in 1988, was part of the team that won the FA Cup in an upset victory over Liverpool. Tony Dorigo
Anthony Robert Dorigo (born 31 December 1965) is a former professional footballer, sports pundit and co-commentator. As a player, he was a defender from 1983 to 2001. He had lengthy spells in the old First Division for both Aston Villa and Chelsea before signing with Leeds United in 1991 where he won the title and went on to feature in the Premier League from 1992 to 1997. Mark Wright (born 1 August 1963) is a former England international football player and English football manager. As a player, he had spells with Liverpool, Derby County, Southampton and Oxford United during the 1980s and 1990s.
