1990 NAIA World Series
The 1990 NAIA World Series was the 34th annual tournament hosted by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics to determine the national champion of baseball among its member colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. The tournament was played at Harris Field in Lewiston, Idaho. Hometown team and three-time defending champions Lewis–Clark State (43–13) defeated Auburn Montgomery (40–25) in a single-game championship series, 9–4, to win the Warriors' sixth NAIA World Series. This would go on to be the fourth of six consecutive World Series championships for the program. Lewis–Clark State outfielder Mark Rasmussen was named tournament MVP. Double Elimination
A double-elimination tournament is a type of elimination tournament competition in which a participant ceases to be eligible to win the tournament's championship upon having lost ''two'' games or matches. It stands in contrast to a single-elimination tournament, in which only ''one'' defeat results in elimination. One method of arranging a double-elimination tournament is to break the competitors into two sets of brackets, the ''winners' bracket'' and ''losers' bracket'' (''W'' and ''L'' brackets for short; also referred to as ''championship bracket'' and ''elimination bracket'', ''upper bracket'' and ''lower bracket'', or ''main bracket'' and ''repechage'') after the first round. The first-round winners proceed into the W bracket and the losers proceed into the L bracket. 1990 NCAA Division III Baseball Tournament
The 1990 NCAA Division III baseball tournament was played at the end of the 1990 NCAA Division III baseball season to determine the 15th national champion of college baseball at the NCAA Division III level. The tournament concluded with six teams competing at a new location at C. O. Brown Stadium in Battle Creek, Michigan, for the championship. Six regional tournaments were held to determine the participants in the World Series. Regional tournaments were contested in double-elimination format, with one region consisting of six teams, four regions consisting of four teams, and one region consisting of two teams, which was played as best-of-five, for a total of 24 teams participating in the tournament. The 1990 NCAA Division II baseball tournament was the postseason tournament hosted by the NCAA to determine the national champion of baseball among its Division II colleges and universities at the end of the 1990 NCAA Division II baseball season. The final, eight-team double-elimination tournament was played at Paterson Field in Montgomery, Alabama. Jacksonville State defeated Cal State Northridge, 12–8, in the final, claiming the Gamecocks' first Division II national title. The 1990 NCAA Division I baseball tournament was played at the end of the 1990 NCAA Division I baseball season to determine the national champion of college baseball. The tournament concluded with eight teams competing in the College World Series, a double-elimination tournament in its forty fourth year. Eight regional competitions were held to determine the participants in the final event. Each region was composed of six teams, resulting in 48 teams participating in the tournament at the conclusion of their regular season, and in some cases, after a conference tournament. The Grand Canyon Antelopes baseball team represents Grand Canyon University, which is located in Phoenix, Arizona. The Antelopes, also known as the Lopes, are an NCAA Division I college baseball program competing in the Western Athletic Conference. They were in Division I from 1991 to 1998, the final four seasons with the Western Athletic Conference, and returned in 2014 with the WAC. The Grand Canyon Antelopes play all home games on campus at Brazell Field at GCU Ballpark.
