The 1990 Ben Hogan Tour season was the first season of the Ben Hogan Tour, the PGA Tour's official developmental tour, now known as the Korn Ferry Tour. Dick Mast
Richard Mast (born March 23, 1951) is an American professional golfer who has played on the PGA Tour, Nationwide Tour, and Champions Tour. Early life Mast was born in Bluffton, Ohio. He graduated from St. Petersburg Junior College in 1971 with a degree in business. Professional career Mast turned pro in 1972. He played on the PGA Tour intermittently in the 1970s and early 1980s. He finished fourth in the 1985 qualifying school to earn his Tour card for 1986. He kept his card through the 1989 season when he finished 173rd on the money list and lost his card. The biggest impression he made in the majors was at the U.S. Open in 1988, where he was only one stroke off the lead after the first round; he went on to finish in a tie for 50th place. Barry Cheesman
Barry Cheesman (born August 29, 1959) is an American professional golfer who played on the Nationwide Tour and the PGA Tour, before getting into golf he was a minor league baseball player. Cheesman was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1977 Major League Baseball Draft with the 613th pick in the 25th round but never made it to the majors, spending four years in the minors. He was a catcher and a pitcher. He played for the Johnson City Cardinals of the Appalachian League and the Calgary Cardinals of the Pioneer Baseball League. He was traded to the California Angels organization in 1979 and played for the Salinas Angels of the California League. He was traded again to the New York Yankees organization in 1980 and played for the GCL Yankees of the Gulf Coast League. Ed Humenik (born June 29, 1959) is an American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour and the Nationwide Tour. Humenik joined the PGA Tour in 1989, gaining his Tour card through qualifying school. After struggling on his rookie year on Tour, he joined the Nationwide Tour in 1990. He won two events, the Ben Hogan Macon Open and the Ben Hogan Santa Rosa Open en route to a 5th-place finish on the money list which earned him his PGA Tour card for 1991. In 1991, he finished 121st on the money list, just good enough to retain his Tour card, he recorded two top-10 finishes. He bettered his performance in 1992, finishing 100th on the money list, including finishing in a tie for fourth at the Buick Southern Open. Ted Tryba
Ted Tryba (born January 15, 1967) is an American professional golfer who has played on the PGA Tour and the Nationwide Tour. Tryba was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He played at Ohio State University. When he was four years old, he lost the sight in his left eye as the result of a freak accident. "I was standing in my yard on a windy day watching a big branch fall out of a tree. It got on me quick and hit me in the eye." All he could do was learn to adjust to his vision handicap. "I really had no big adjustments to make," he said. "If there is such a thing as a lucky accident, I guess that was it. If it had happened when I was a teenager or in my 20s, I may have had some problems. I see things a little different than everybody else. Sometimes it makes it difficult to do things, but I've never used it as a crutch." Tryba has two victories on PGA Tour and three on the Nationwide Tour.
